These paddles are nicely made. However they are wood not the usual material Pickleball paddles are made from. They are definitely heavy. And the ball doesn’t react when hitting them as usual

I've been playing for a couple years and got to 4.0+ with these. They are very sturdy, consistent, and have a good balance between maneuverability and power. Edges are still going strong because they're lined with impressively durable plastic. The grip is decent and absorbs some sweat as well. No dead spots or other malfunctions. A great price to quality ratio! I now have over a year's experience with this paddle. I bought two - one for myself and one for my wife. At the time I was new to the sport, now I'm a 3.5 level player and have tried a number of paddles. First, the paddle is very durable and has a nice sweet spot. It hits hard with good control. However, it is not light. In fact I would judge it heaver than average at 8.9 ounces. This means that it takes a fraction longer to the into position, and it takes more strength to wield the paddle in serious play, i.e. to defend against a banger or to hit a drive. That's fine if you have the strength, not so good if you are of just average strength. As far as value, this paddle is about half the price of a name brand paddle and mine has held up very well. So the value is excellent. The feel of the paddle is good. It has a big sweet spot and low noise, which I appreciate. It makes a "thwop" sound, not a "ping" as some paddles do. A nice, solid sound that does not irritate. Vibration is minimal. When I bought this paddle I was trading up from a wooden (yes, wooden. Don't make that beginner mistake!) paddle, and new next to nothing about pickleball or paddles. I would recommend this paddle for someone at that level who does not want to spend for a name brand paddle. For a 3.5 level player, I would recommend a thicker, lighter paddle. My goal is to get the lightest paddle with the biggest sweet spot, so I can move the paddle fast, and hit shots off center while maintaining maximum control Thicker and lighter is better based on what I have experienced. However, I will have to pay 2-3 times more to get what I want next. ... show more
