I've been wanting to try a Hori Hori for a long time and the weeds this year (2023) finally pushed me over to get one. This was perfect! It made the hard-to-pull crabgrass pop right out. The handle is a lot more robust than I expected which was a nice surprise. The cutting and shear sides worked well for minor tasks but will be leaning on other tools for those jobs. I also used it to help transplant a few smaller perennials that wasn't established yet. Digging in hard dry clay was no issue for this tool as it chipped it away with ease. If durability holds up, I expect to have this for a long time. Great tool!

Bought this for my wife to use in the garden but grabbed it to use servicing our sprinkler system. Super sharp edge that cuts thru sod like butter and is easy to control. Very heavy duty and sharp. Gloves will not protect your hands from the blade but are nice to keep your hand clean. Haven't used the sharpening stone yet but is nice to have in case you want to carve a roast. Made my work so much easier I bought a second knife for myself.

I was surprised with the quality of the tool it is well made and I love the weight and feel in my hand. It comes with a sharpening stone, gloves, and a sheath. The straight blade is not sharp and I would not expect it to be for the price since a sharpening stone included. The gloves are a bit tight and would be considered a “medium” since I am an XL. The sheath material is it’s weakest part of the product. The first day the fastening the held sheath to the belt loop gave and I was not surprised. Considering that I am an amateur leather smith it was easy to identify why the sheath failed (material). Rather than request a return, I manufactured a new sheath since the tool is the main reason why I bought it. Love it and it is part of my repertoire of gardening tools!

It digs out a hole for planting easier than the standard trowel. Cuts right through roots. I was surprised how sturdy it is. No ones gonna mess with me while I’m gardening either. Liked it so much I bought one for my neighbor who is Japanese. She said she never saw a tool like that in Japan. She loves it too.
