Great watch with excellent value for the price. The battery life is outstanding—even with continuous heart rate monitoring enabled, I only need to charge it once a week. It's also very durable; I've knocked it against equipment several times during workouts without a single scratch, and it even survived a drop from a reasonable height with no damage. The companion app is excellent, offering plenty of useful health and fitness insights in an easy-to-use interface. I have to say that I am very impressed with this watch. I had only found out about this particular smartwatch a few days ago after my previous one that I had for about 3 years died on me. What ultimately made me purchase this watch was the advertised 20 day battery life, the screen size, and the price. So far so good. I really like the build quality of the device as it does not feel cheap at all. Connectivity was very seamless as I was able to quickly set the watch up and sync it with the Zepp app. After getting acclimated with some of the features and modifying some settings, I am enjoying it so far. I will see how much battery life I will actually get after using this device for a few days. I was going to previously go with a Garmin watch as a replacement, but the price point was very enticing. Plus I really did not want to spend $300+ for a smartwatch. I already had to replace my PC monitor and modem in the past few weeks, so I was not about to shell out that amount of money for a new smartwatch. Hopefully the Amazefit Bip Max will fulfill all my needs and then some. I will update my review after a few days/weeks with feedback on battery life and other features. ... show more

    • Simply the best smartwatch I've ever owned!

Over the years, I've owned Fitbits and Fossil Smartwatches and this Amazfit is, hands down, the best smartwatch I've ever owned. It's responsive, easy to use and the battery life is no joke. I first put it on a week ago and I'm at 49%. As a comparison, my last watch was a Fossil Q Explorist and while I loved that one as a watch, but the battery was a joke - even when it was actually performing, I still needed to charge it every single night, so I couldn't use it for sleep tracking - and its responsiveness was very hit or miss. But I loved Fossil, so I stuck with it. But over the last few months, there were too many days where it would inexplicably be at 25% by lunchtime. Meanwhile with the Amazfit, I charged it when I received it last Saturday evening, have been wearing it consistently since (with the exception of the shower), been active on the treadmill seven of the last eight days...and the battery still has close to another week left in it. As for the responsiveness, this thing actually moves correctly every time I swipe it and responds to every touch - I couldn't say that about the Fossil most days. Now, to the Zepp app. It took me a bit to get used to it, but it's completely replaced my Fossil app (obviously), Google Fit and MyFitnessPal (the latter of which I had been using for probably the last 10 years at least). The food tracking, while not perfect, is at least as good as MyFitnessPal and the AI capture function (taking pictures of food) is surprisingly good. Again, not perfect, the text/voice adding seems to make up for that. Oh, and the syncing. Coming from Fossil where it was a battle getting it to sync most days (turn off BT, turn on BT, unpair, re-pair, reboot phone and watch, etc.), this is like magic. It just...syncs. No prompting, no hoops to jump through, it just syncs and updates like a smartwatch should. The activity/physical tracking is better than I could have hoped. Aside from your regular step counts, it's measuring metrics that I hadn't even considered before, like stress for example (and, what a coincidence, I actually AM most stressed during my work hours). Since I'm in the early days of ownership, I know some metrics need more time to build up, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they can help me get healthier. Native watch face customization has a good variety and then when you add in a 3rd party app, you get even more - I've been sporting a Fallout Pip-Boy watch face from that and loving it. And it doesn't seem to adversely affect battery life than something like Facer did on the Fossil. Whatever optimization they did in this watch's build is amazing. It doesn't feel too big on my wrist, even compared with the Fossils I've worn and while I ordinarily prefer a metal watchband, this one feels pretty good. No complaints on the looks at all. Seriously, if you're looking for a smartwatch that isn't something from Apple or Samsung, you absolutely can't go wrong here. ... show more

I was looking for a watch that can help me track steps, connect to my phone when needed, be able to disconnect Bluetooth, reliable, and inexpensive compared to other watches. This is a great watch for all that. I’m really happy with it. Battery is durable, it has a big screen, I get all my notifications when connected and I’m able to track my steps and track other workouts. Very nice mid-tier smartwatch. Like the large screen. Does everything I need it to do. However, don't expect 20 days of battery life. Maybe if you use just as a watch. I have messages, phone, and a couple other not frequent apps turned on for notifications. Also tried with health monitoring on and off. Average battery life is between 12 to 14 days max. I've had it for 1 week now and so far I like it. I replaced a frustrating TicWatch with this watch. Setup was easy and the features are good. Battery has lasted a week now with no charge so that's promising. Connects and syncs well to the Zepp app. The GPS feature turns on pretty quickly when I start an activity such as trail hiking. My only complaints are: 1) when showering with it on, it autodetects activity and starts recording the "workout". Very annoying as it ruins my workout metrics. I've tried to find way to disable it in settings but nothing works. 2) there are many free faces to choose from but only 1 seems useful to me. Maybe I'm too picky. Overall it's great value and I do like the big vivid screen. ... show more

I've been using this watch since June. The AMOLED display looks great and bright, and battery life is good. It's comfortable to wear all day. I have an iPhone, no Mac, but also an iWatch and iPad. I love the functionality of the iWatch, but its battery life is horrible. I have tried some other smartwatches, but their quality left a lot to be desired. I am pretty hard on a watch. My friend had the Amazfit, and never complained, so I figured I had to try it. Great move. I am a big guy, this looks appropriate on my big forearm. It gives me the same data as my iWatch, but I only charge it once every 10 days. I am not sure about the impact of the Zepp app on my phone battery life yet, but I haven’t noticed a significant difference. My only gripe is I wish the band were a bit longer for my big wrist.
