This mat is long, but still about 6 inches shy of being long enough for my tub (metal tub with tall sides from the 1930’s). The worst part is the chemical smell: it is so strong, you can literally taste it. I draped it over my porch railing outside in the sun for a week and hosed it down three or four times before using it. After a week of use in the tub, the chemical smell is still present, but probably 85% less than it originally was. If you’re sensitive to smells, be warned. The suction cups are strong, the extra length appreciated and the quality is great. But the smell… I almost returned it because of that alone. But I figured they all smell like that because of the materials bath mats are made of. The suction cups can be felt under your feet, which isn’t that comfortable, but better than slipping. This is a beautiful bath mat but cannot be used on a refinished reglazed tub and since we had just had that done on our nice and new bathtub we had to take it to use on our old crummy bathtub in our summer home to cover up the rust and wear where we could use it perfectly. This super white bath mat has very strong suction, and it also comes in other colors so it's a good bargain and is especially great if you have wear or rust on an older porcelain or steel bathtub. Would be nice if it had a hook up for hanging it up after use... This one had trouble with mold under the suction cups after only 6-8 months of 4 showers a week (average)!

I took away 1 star because there are no drainage holes. They recommend that you lift it off after use. That is a pain and I don’t do it. It is very soft, pliable. To clarify, I do lift it occasionally to clean tub but I am the only one using that shower.

Bought this so dog couldn’t scratch my new acrylic tub when bathing him. So it does work and doesn’t slip but it has a very strong chemical plastic smell. I unpackaged it just 3 days ago and scrubbed it down once with dishwashing soap but smell still there. I have to set it outside so that I can’t smell. I know pvc outgassing is normal but I hope it goes away soon ... show more

I bought this for my mom's walk in shower. Had no issue with slipping or sliding. If you lay it down on the dry surface and apply pressure evenly(just step in the thing) the suction cups work it won't move. The only issue was the drainage.Her drain hole is in the middle of the shower so it kind of covered it and the water build up. If you have this for a regular tub/shower where the drain hole is in front this would be a 5 star for you. Make sure you get the right length. ... show more
