We use these cherries in Christmas cookies. We insert one in a ball of dough and gently flatten before baking. A light dusting of powdered sugar afterwards for a wonderful treat.

Maraschino cherries - the really red ones - are so yesterday. Too sweet with a flavor that seems artificial. Fortunately, Amerna cherries can come to the rescue. They are great in any cocktail that calls for a cherry garnish. Deep color and flavor and the syrup adds to the drink. The taste is great even though the texture is a little softer and the size a little smaller than a luxardo cherry. It is perfect ilfor my Manhattans. I highly recommend this as an alternative to luxardo cherries.
