    • Powerful and quiet on the set.
There is a lot to like about Amaran. First is having the lighting quality, but unfortunately not the build quality, of Aputure. Having stated the negative I'll qualify by saying, it's plastic; however, I have two and I haven't broken one yet. The Bi-Color feature is an awesome convenience cin contrast to using to using gels. The umbrella clamp is handy as well and I use it on many shoots. A couple of these 200W remote control dimmable lights with inexpesive shoot through diffusion and you've got the begining of an incomparable lighting setup. Oh yeah, the fans are very quiet. I don't see how they could interfere with the sound of an intimate interview; a room with running air conditioning system is FAR worse. ... show more

    • Powerful and a great first key light.
Review Image by Prab
I'm an amateur when it comes to video production, but I really tried skating by with cheap LED panels for my key light and it was not cutting it. I was worried the 200xS might be overkill, but I'm really glad I chose it over the 100x. Once you throw on a softbox and grid, the light was beautifully diffused while maintaining the brightness I needed. And it was only at 50% brightness in the photo! It's also incredibly quiet and easy to use. The build quality is solid at this price point and it really is a great first key light to have. The only drawback I'd call out is that it takes up a lot of space, especially with the softbox, so it's not going to be as versatile in smaller rooms. Color seems to be very accurate, I'm really liking it at the 5000-5300K range, but I'm glad I have the flexibility to go warmer or cooler as needed. After nearly a year of owning it, I'd recommend! ... show more

Great light for Youtube content creation. It's my only high-powered light and it's very flexible.

    • Versatile and High-Quality Light for Professional Video Production
As a videographer always in search of the best lighting equipment, the Amaran 200x S 200W Bi-Color LED Video Light has exceeded my expectations. Combining it with the Aputure Light Dome II has provided an unparalleled lighting setup that delivers on all fronts. The versatility of the Amaran 200x S is one of its most standout features. With a color temperature range from 2700-6500k, it offers a broad spectrum of lighting conditions, adaptable to almost any scene or mood. Its CRI95+ and TLCI98+ ratings are testament to its ability to reproduce colors faithfully, ensuring accurate color representation in every shot. The ability to control the light via Bluetooth through a dedicated app is a game-changer. It makes adjustments quick and efficient, without having to disrupt my setup or workflow. This feature is incredibly useful, especially when I'm working solo or in a fast-paced shooting environment. Among the array of built-in lighting effects, I've found all of them to be impressively realistic and useful for enhancing my creative storytelling. They're easily adjustable and add depth and drama to my videos without requiring complex post-production manipulation. Pairing the Amaran 200x S with the Aputure Light Dome II has been a decision I couldn't be happier with. The soft, diffused light produced by this combination is incredibly flattering and versatile, useful in a wide variety of shooting scenarios. The Bowens Mount makes the connection between these two pieces of equipment seamless and stable. Moreover, the silent fan feature ensures that my audio recording remains clean, unimpeded by the distracting noise of a cooling system – an issue I've encountered with other brands in the past. The ability to power the light through either DC or AC is also an appreciable addition, providing flexibility depending on the shooting location and circumstances. In conclusion, the Amaran 200x S 200W Bi-Color LED Video Light is a top-tier lighting solution for any serious videographer. Its versatile features, coupled with the superior diffused light from the Aputure Light Dome II, make it an unbeatable combo for professional-grade video production. I couldn't recommend it more highly. ... show more

    • Great compact studio light!
Love this thing! This is my 2nd unit (first was a 100x), and they're so easy to set up and use. Paired with a Godox compact soft box, these things are perfect for studio work. And you can run them through the app, which also works well.

    • Don’t buy from this seller.
READ MORE! This product is fine and works well, I actually enjoy it quite a bit. The one star is for the seller. On arrival my package was beat up and thrown together with transparent tape. No box around it. When I opened it, it was the wrong product. Amaran 60 or something like that. Anyways it was not what I ordered at all, it was missing cables and had obviously been a fraudulent return in their system. My problem with this is that I paid for this BRAND NEW and they’re shipping open box products. Absolutely scummy and unacceptable. After I returned my item a replacement showed up 5 days later with very minimal resolution on Amazons end I was absolutely astonished that something like this could even happen Buy this product elsewhere. ... show more

    • Budget Friendly, Color Accurate, and Good Output
I use the 200x almost daily for product photography. I have used the 200x for over 1.5 years and it kicks on every time with no issues. The Amaran models are perfect for me. The price is more in my budget and I don't mind the plastic body since I'm rarely rough with my lights. The mobile app is great since I now have 5 aputure lights. Being able to adjust the temperature and brightness without touching the light is a huge time saver. If the tightening handle and mount was metal this would be a perfect build. ... show more
