Aluminum Miter Saw Protractor，angle finder， 7-Inch Rust Proof Angle Finder Featuring Precision Laser Engraved Scales (LX-230)，for Carpenters, Plumbers and All Building Trades I finally got around to using this and it works really well to find the right miter angle for cutting. It’s easy to use, just put it up into the angle you need and it gives you the split of the angle needed. Our 90 year old house doesn’t have many right angles, so saving time and eliminating mistakes is helpful. The gauge is well made, with a solid feel to the whole thing, and the gauge dial moves easily, but also stays put so you’re not likely to lose your angle. It’s also really easy to read, with bright white markings on the black aluminum. I don’t have a lot of uses for this right now, but I have in the past when we’ve done remodeling work, and I expect to do more of that in the future. It seems like a real bargain for the price too, even if you only use it on occasion, it’s still cheaper than a morning coffee and donut.

This is a very nice angle finder, it has very nice clear, sharp markings in white that contrast nicely against the black metal frame and are easy to read. The hinge is just right, it’s stiff enough that you won’t easily bump it to throw off your measurement, but not too tight that it’s hard to move. It comes with a protective drawstring bag. It’s a high quality gauge that I’m overall very happy with it.
