It’s a great subwoofer to start out with. But if you love sound like I do I would opt for a bigger size. It punches well inside but outside not so good. I like to feel the bass in my chest. Excellent low end response; Paired with Alto TS312's (and will upgrade to TS412's in the future). This was an impressive setup and I will be getting a 2nd to round out my sound at a distance :D

Before I begin I want to say that the bottom of my box was open as soon as it arrived, so I don't know if So at first I was feeding it from the tops, which didn't sound strong enough for me to even tell what was wrong with it until I finally figured out I had it backwards. So I went to the subs from my mixer with 1/4 Out XLR In. It sounds really, really bad. People were praising how crisp and clear it sounds in the reviews but so far, it's anything but clear. 45% and under on the knob is extremely quiet and has virtually no bass. At 45% and above, it punches in hard and only increases exponentially so it's hard to get the perfect volume for any of the usable bass without it being either way too weak or way too heavy and distorted. My TS408's are awesome. I love them. They're absolutely perfect. I wanted as compact and as simple a setup as I could possibly get (mainly because of my back problems), but this sub was a huge let down. I'm so glad I only bought one so far, but I'm not even sure if I'll be able to return it or not considering how large and heavy it is. I was really, really regretting not buying the TS18S because of the much better range and sound, but obviously it's like 40 lbs. heavier so that had me pretty worried, however... I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it if that's just how these are. Again, the box did have an opened side when it arrived. I looked around the sub and didn't see any visible damage or dents, but I don't know enough about these to open the actual sub and inspect it's internals. ... show more
