He uses it as directed (you must re-wet it several times a day depending on the temperature and an individuals personal preference) and he says it definitely helps him tolerate the heat a little better - and every little bit helps. So, one day I tried it while mowing my very large yard - it did provide some comfort and help alleviate the temperature (it was 101 degrees F) making it more tolerable. Bought two of these for my husband and son for camping in the Florida Keys with the Boy Scouts. They were both super thankful for them! The gaiters did exactly what was advertised: kept them cool during all day adventures, kept the sun off of their necks and eventually, whole heads, and at night kept the bugs from biting around their heads. Now that the adventure is over my son is still wearing it to stay comfortable mowing the yard in extreme heat. When these wear out, we will purchase more for sure. ... show more
