I'd honestly never really was aware of the brand Alltec before a few months ago but I've been more and more impressed with their products the more I give them a chance. I didn't even realize that an older surround sound system in my house, maybe decades old, is an Alltec, too, and is still holding up pretty well for its age. These newer models still hold the same competency but are definitely upgraded in all the right ways. This model is less flashy than other Bluetooth speakers as it is made for more outdoor use, like barbecuing and working on your yard, and travel, like road trips and camping. It's built rock solid, no fear of this falling apart or getting damaged from occasional bumps and drops. The battery life is very impressive and allows for us to play music for hours and hours on end while working inside or outside. The waterproof function lets us feel a lot safer keeping this nearby when working with hoses or by a pool, though you don't want to pour water or any sort of liquids directly on it. Good to great battery life, full sound, pairing available, and charging ability. Unfortunately, the unit died just beyond the year warranty. Compare that to an OONTZ that I purchased that is going on 4 years plus, and has been abused far harder, where these speakers have primarily been used either inside or out on a shaded patio away from sun and rain. Also, if you purchase a pair of them like I did, be aware that there is a definite volume variation at the lower end. The speaker that died had a great ultra low setting, as tonstill enjoy music and not mess with the neighbors. The one that has survived is noticeably louder...too loud..., and when the volume is reduced the next level it's mute. Very frustrating. I've been using Altec Lansing products for going on 25 years, and I won't be replacing the remaining speaker when it fails, especially for the price. ... show more

This is an amazing speaker. It really pumped out the sound with a lot of bass. I had it up on a table and it was actually booming the table and vibrating it. And that was not at full blast. This really has great sound quality and volume. Aside from the sound, I also love the fact that this is pretty much everything proof. The exterior is this rubberized/silicone material. Everything is enclosed and Waterproof. The buttons on the top light up and are slightly raised but are also made of the same material. It has three handles that are padded and molded into the actual speaker itself. Making them durable enough to use to lash down or tie to the boat. As far as streaming-this connected instantaneously to my phone. There is a watertight rubber hatch on the top cover. It houses the charging port, three USB ports (you can charge your phone or your friends phones or tablet in there$, an aux port, and a microphone port. All of those ports are enclosed on the top and easily accessible. And since you’re probably going to stream this from your phone they were very thoughtful in creating a compartment to hold your phone. It is also enclosed with a cover that seals it and makes your phone protected in this waterproof cubby. The only thing I would change about this is to have a USB port inside the phone storage area. The speaker is great good base and sound. Volume is adequate for the area I use it. I may get a second on to pair the 2 together. Would be 5 star but the 20 hour run time that was posted is not what I am getting on a full charge 7 to 8 hours is the max I seem to get from it.

I recently purchased this speaker for a beach trip and it worked great. The sound is so loud and clear and the bass is good. I like that I was able to get in the water and still hear my music because it was floating right there with me. I liked that I didn’t have to worry about the sand or water messing it up. Also I like that it has a big cubby spot on the back of speaker where I was able to have my phone with me so I didn’t miss a call. The cubby is very big.
