  • Overall a Great Shoe
Size: R110 Color: Black
I ordered the all Black size 11 high tops, and right away I loved the look, and after a brief period of breaking them in +/- about a week or 2, maybe a little more, they feel great! I would / will order them again, as I like them a lot. Yeah they are a little bit expensive. But if after a year theyre still holding up to how I rough up and wear out sneakers, I will will consider it worth it. They definitely have a Great non-slip sole, and even non-slip insoles, so your feet do not slip around while wearing them (for if you went swimming in them, since that's what they're designed for it makes sense to have a non slip insole). Now at first I thought the toe box was going to be a little too tight, and for a week it seemed that way, and sadly considered returning them to exchange for the wide size, but I had already wore them outside, and figured I'd just deal with it. And I'm glad I kept this size and width, because now they're not tight at all. They fit perfectly, and as you continue to wear them, the full covered rubberized toe guard breaks in and softens up nicely, just give it time. If after 3 weeks or a month they still feel tight well then, maybe you needed the wide version. I plan to buy other colors and styles. Altama might just be my new go to brand for rugged sneakers. ... show more

  • 6 year review, all I will wear
I bought my first pair around 6 years ago. I will also say I have only wore these exclusively for 6 years for a ton of reasons. I play disc golf all the time and when you play in the morning when the dew gets your shoes soaked these dry crazy fast. I have walked in rivers, lakes, and ponds with these on and they will dry in a half hour usually. They are very comfy considering what the insoles are made of. Now the durability... I have only bought 2 pairs of these in 6 years, I'm a propeller tech and I do allot of welding and grinding and I put shoes through hell. I used to wear nothing but chuck t and wore them out all the time. These things have been insanely durable in my opinion and experience and I will definitely keep buying them until I can't find them. Only bad thing I can say is sometimes you have to wait for size availability ... show more

  • Comfortable, slick, amphibious take on chucks/ converse sneakers
These shoes have a unique combination of good features that make it one of a kind. It looks great, wears well both casually and as a work shoe, and is designed to drain water well, and slip into swimming fins. Appearance: Slick take on classic chucks or converse sneakers. Sole: Nonslip, very grippy on wet or smooth surfaces. The material and tread pattern tends not to pick up/wedge small rocks or pebbles that end up making scratching noises on pavement or scratches on flooring. There is a strong abs shank that supports your foot while climbing ladders. The shank is curved enough to provide support even on caving ladders. It also makes your footfalls very quiet. Body of the boot: The main body of the boot has a thick breathable mesh that quickly wicks moisture and two well placed drainage holes covered with a strong mesh. The boot doesn't squish or squeak as much as the chucks did when first coming out of the water. Possible downside for noise discipline: Depending on how tightly you wear the shoes and how much your ankle flexes with your gait, the mesh tends to make a brushing/squeaking sound when the top of the ankle area of the boot compresses and rubs against the tongue of the boot while walking. This sound has decreased over time as the shoe "broke in" but is still there. This will tend to be more problematic if your ankles are thinner (and more of the tongue of the boot rubs against the mesh in the heel area. This sound isn't noticeable when walking around in public, but you can definitely hear it in a quiet room or when walking outside at night. You could avoid this altogether by getting the low cut version of these same shoes. ... show more

  • Great boots with flaws
Size: R130 Color: Coyote
I really love these boots. I've worn quite a few in my career and these are my second favorite. However, they're not perfect. I've been wearing these for about 4 months daily, and I can already see them wearing down. The threads around the toe box started to come loose so i had to reach inside and pull them back tight, and then dropped a drop of super glue to keep them in place. The inside isnt the greatest. It's just rubber so if your feet are sweating they will come out of the boots when you take them off at the end of the day. I swapped them out almost immediately. I will say that if you have the budget, you should just buy Lowa Zephyrs. They're more comfortable, and more durable. ... show more

  • Flaws are tiny but great piece of footwear
Size: R110 Color: Black
I just recently received my shoes and i'll start off with, depending on brand, i'm usually a 10.5. I went ahead and ordered a size 11 and they fit great. Just the right amount of toe room and no issues with being tight. Before i got these, i've been wearing Salomons for my work shoes (private security in florida) and the biggest issue i've had with the salomons have been weight and heat. I just put the Altama's through 19hrs of working mostly on my feet and i'm very impressed. Do they feel like you're walking on clouds? Not exactly. The inner sole is pretty solid compared to most shoes but it's not uncomfortable after long periods of time. They are extremely light weight compared to my Salomons and my feet don't get nearly as hot/sweaty when wearing the Altama's. I do wish they made a high top version though. I definitly think there could be more ankle support put into these, especially because on ocassion, the top edge of the ankle will pinch or dig into my ankle. The laces could be a bit stronger or more solid, they seem a bit cheap. All in all though, i'm very pleased with the investment and may even consider replacing my every day boots with the multicam altamas. ... show more

  • Worth the price all day long
Size: 12 Color: Olive Drab
I have had pairs of these for the last 6 years. They're pretty much outdoor chucks that will last. I have used them for weight lifting, outdoor activities and have handled my military field events with no issues.
