The ALPS Mountaineering Vertex Air Bed is a great sleeping option whether you have out-of-town guests staying for the weekend or you're camping in the great outdoors. It is constructed of a durable, lightweight and completely PVC-free fabric. The coil system used makes a solid and comfortable sleeping surface for a great night's sleep. The included state-of-the art pump operates via three power options: wall outlet, car adaptor, or rechargeable battery. The Vertex pump comes with a wall adaptor and car adaptor, so you can charge your pump battery wherever you are. Unlike most other rechargeable pumps, if you happen to forget about pre-charging your Vertex pump, there is no need to wait. You can just plug the pump into a power source (car or wall outlet) for immediate use! The pump quickly inflates/deflates your air bed with the “flip of a switch.” A convenient carry bag is included for easy storage and transport. Available in Twin and Queen. I go camping and to music festivals a lot and the blow up mattresses i was buying, like the Intex and coleman and other generic brands always seem to get a hole after one or two uses. That's like 2 or 3 mattresses a year. And i know i could patch them but do you know how hard it is to find a tiny hole in a queen size blow up mattress? I finally decided to find a blowup mattress made out of more durable materials and this one was perfect. It's also more firm then a regular blow up mattress, is super easy to blow up and really easy to add extra air when it deflates a little due to a change in cold weather. We bought this mattress because 1) it's specifically intended for camping; 2) it fits easily into a 2-person tent; 3) it was thicker than other pads and camping mattresses, 4) a better price than most other similar mattresses, and 5) it could be delivered within a couple of days. Size is what I was hoping for, plenty of width for comfort. Definitely thick enough. Only takes a few minutes to inflate. My only concern is the position of the valve. You end up either having it sticking up so you'll lay on it, or flipping the bed over and the valve is pushed against the ground - which I'm afraid might cause leaking or break it. ... show more

I bought this to go under the mattress on a fold out couch bed. I wanted it to have just a little more cushion for people who sleep on it. This is perfect and wonderful. Took this out on a military field exercise for a month. It was a perfect balance of comfort and size, not taking up too much room in my bag. The whole 30 days this never lost air, at all. Was very comfortable and a nice relief coming back to the tent every day after long days out. I didn't use the included pump, as I used a separate camping pump for inflation. The only slight con is I would prefer the valve be on one of the ends, not in the middle- that makes rolling it up easier to deflate. But that's a small con, everything else is great. It’s perfect for me. Fits just right in the tent. Very durable and comfortable. Good air retention and easily portable. Easy to use. If you plan on camping a bit more then it’s certainly worth the value for the money.
