Picture shows sharpened and unsharpened. Product goes on easily in water line. Stays on all day. Because it is soft, it has to be sharpened often. I can sharpen it ok. Other reviewers stated they could not, but a regular eye line sharpener works fine. The only problem I have is as it gets sharpened, often the crayon stick breaks. I suppose because it IS so soft. Wish it could hold together for the entire length of the crayon and to the end of the pencil, which lasted about 5-6 months with almost daily use. Actually pretty good use time. Great color. Can't find this color anywhere else, so I bought it again. ... show more

    • A sharpener? Really?

I love Almay. Used their products for years. I ordered this eye liner thinking it was the same one I always use. NOT... It's not as sharp and end as I'm used to. If I get it on my skin below my eye, it does smudge when I try to remove it. Worse of all, it doesn't have the twist up doo hickey. You have to use a sharpener. What happened to the twister? I'm keeping it because I have used it and I ran out of my good one. I'll try again. ... show more

    • Finally found THE one!

Covergirl Liqiline Blast eyeliner in Silver Spark (gray) was discontinued ages ago... It was my favorite eyeliner because it lasted all day (for me) and it was a perfect shade of gray (for me). I have yet to find a good gray eyeliner to replace it. Until now!!! This is it! This is THE one! It lasts all day for me just like my old Covergirl did! Also...Some gray eyeliners are just too light in pigment that it doesn't matter how much you put on (it still remains a weak bluish/light gray). Yet you don't know that until you try it. This shade of gray is perfect (go heavier and it's dark charcoal gray... Go lighter and blend and it's light gray). The only difference is that instead of Covergirl silver sparkles, it has multi-colored sparkles in it. I panicked when I saw that... But: The multicolored sparkles are tiny/minimal and provide a slight brightening/shimmer effect VS looking like your wearing colored sparkle eyeliner. So don't let that put you off from trying it. It's also waterproof... Which I usually don't opt for when given a choice. But it comes off easily with eye makeup remover. Be warned: whenever I find a "favorite" product, it usually gets discontinued. So I may have just cursed the product... Lol. ... show more

The brown is deep, almost a soft black. This formula is very difficult to use, it drags and skips on skin. It's super patchy, so you have to build up color, but that causes flakiness from too much product. It hasn't lasted more than a couple hours for me with primer - it wears off even quicker on bare skin. I might just have oily/hydrated eyelids. This is easy to sharpen, and I like that the pencil is made from some recycled paper. I like the ewg rating, especially for anything I put near my eyes. The eyeliner removes very easily with a tiny bit of coconut oil. Weirdly, it resisted my creme face wash. ... show more

    • The brown is perfect!

I got the gray and purple and brown. There is a wide variety of quality between them. Purples are hard to formulate, and it shows in this pencil. Dry, skippy, patchy, fades a bit. Can I make it work? Yeah, I guess, but I don't reach for it because of those issues. The gray is... fine. It has sparkles in it, which surprised me. The glitter isn't big, but it's there, and that sort of limits the use of this pencil. I don't reach for it as often as I would if the gray was a lovely, creamy textured matte. It is none of those things. But. BUT!! The brown is. It is perfection in a pencil. Long wearing, doesn't transfer on my hooded eyes, is creamy, a joy to apply, dark enough, soft matte, pigmented, doesn't skip, tug, or go patchy. The gray and purple are... ok, I guess. If you have other pencils that you like in those colors, you probably won't like these any better. But THE BROWN! Run, don't walk. You need, NEED the brown in your life. I don't even use brown eyeliner, or I didn't. Now, I use it everyday. If I need it to be a little darker, I'll use a bit of black shadow to tint the line. BUY THE BROWN!!! ... show more
