I bought this for my 5 year old son. He is able to access videos and music himself after a quick lesson. My only complaint is that loading time on this device is slow and my internet isn’t at fault. My son will try to navigate the Home Screen and it reacts slowly. I still gave 4 out of 5 stars because the sound quality is good, and speech recognition is great (even when there is a speech pronunciation issue). If the lag wasn’t so annoying, I would be completely satisfied.

My 7 year old loves echo show so I thought this would be great for her. It did not disappoint. I love that it is especially set up for a child to use. I don’t have to worry about her accidentally getting on something she shouldn’t be. It has jokes for kids, songs, everything is tailored to them specifically. The skin is also a great, fun feature. It stands out and just has a fun vibe! Easy to set up, responds well to her voice and good sound quality.

We've been systematically replacing alarm clocks and echo dots with these show 5's. There a lot of people that dislike the small screen and slow processor but for us they work great for what we are using them for. The only challenge that we have is that asking Alexa to play K-LOVE Christian Radio on iheart radio as an alarm clock never goes well. You basically have to disable kids mode, set the alarm, then turn kids mode back on. Once you have one alarm set, you can modify it through the Alexa app. I wish Amazon was more tolerant in allowing K-LOVE radio station to be played on kids echos without having to jump through hoops.
