LOVE this toy chest. It is very sleek looking and the overall design is beautiful to where it could fit into any room whether it be boy, girl, or toy room. It was easy to assemble and it’s very sturdy with it being wood. It is very easy to use since the top does not shut on its own (as pictured) we can keep SO many stuffed animals in there as shown in the pictures I provided. Its function is straight forward. I just bought a second one of these toy chests. They’re great! Yes, the price is high, but you get a sturdy bin that holds a decent amount of toys *and* allows people to sit on it like a bench. The hinges that hold the lid open operate smoothly. My first bin has seen about six months of use by three rowdy boys and it’s still just as sturdy as when I got it. Assembly is straightforward. This toy box is very sturdy. And very functional. It holds a lot of toys. It's easy to clean. It's white, but even if something gets of it. It's cleans right off. Our kids sit on this. And sometimes we caught them standing on it. And it has held up great. Definitely would buy again.

Overall, this toy box is fine. It has provided a place to store toys and helped create a sense of responsibility in my child and keeping after their belongings. The size of the box is decent, it can hold a good amount of toys. Color is as advertised, a nice neutral grey. Construction is simple, it's a box. But when you get to the accessories needed for hinges, the holes don't line up and securing them is awkward. The screws used to put the box together also take some considerable torque, which most hands do not possess. A drill is needed to GENTLY tighten them once the box is nearly done. There is also an unpleasant smell from the paint. It's been weeks and the smell is still hanging around. This is called off-gassing, hopefully no harmful vocs, as this is a kid's toy box. I researched these boxes for way too long and this does seem to be the best, safest storage for the cost. It also provides a nice reading seat for little ones. ... show more

My husband and I love Melissa and Doug's brand. Most of his toys are Melissa and Doug. This toy box is awesome! I wasn't expecting the lid to be able to stay open at any position you place it in. Definitely good for the baby's fingers and head. One thing, the lid is a little tricky to get on, it's hard to align it properly so it's perfectly straight. We were lazy and my OCD hates me for it. Love it! It was easy to put together . Didn’t take long at all. All of my boys toys fit inside because it’s pretty spacious. It’s worth the money . The lid won’t close on its own . You have to push it down . We will see how it holds up. My boys are rough lol.
