These are nice boots, but for the price, they are really spartan. They are partially lined. The tongue has no padding, but the leather is thick enough to prevent the laces from digging in. The insole is identical to the insoles in a few pairs of off-brand boots I have. I usually replace insoles, but I still would have maybe expected them to be a little nicer. They felt a little stiff when I first put them on, but loosened up fairly quickly, and felt comfortable. Sizing runs a little smaller than other boots I own. I tried to research how their sizes ran, and the advice for these boots was to order your tennis shoe size. I would say that is good advice, if you don't plan to wear real thick socks or a thicker sock and liner. These boots really are made for more casual wear. They are not really for hunting or work. As casual boots, they look really nice, and they are made of nice leather. They are pretty lightweight. They have a Goodyear welt, so they can be resoled. I do like the feel and appearance of these boots. I think they will continue to get more comfortable and should last several years. ... show more

I own two pairs of Irish Setter Ashby work boots and they are quite comfortable right out of the box. These boots(Fifty) were never designed to be anything but attractive on the exterior. The inside of the counter(back of heel) has an exposed edge of stiff leather that will never break in to be comfortable. Really flawed design. The rest of the boot isn't particularly comfortable either. Wish I could send them back. ... show more
