  • Very pleased - highly recommended!
Size: XXL Deluxe
This stand is kind of "spendy" compared to traditional tree stands - but having decided to purchase it, I'm VERY glad that I did. The Krinner replaced an aging "traditional" style tree stand - the kind where there is a collar with 4 thumb screws that need to be tightened to secure the tree. Using that stand requires 2 people - one to hold the tree in place while another addresses the screws. The Krinner can easily be managed with a single person. I purchased the version with the bell - it's very useful to have that. Once you're holding the tree in the stand, and you begin to press on the foot lever to secure the trunk - it's likely that you won't be able to see the trunk and the gripping arms to tell when to stop pushing the lever. The bell will "ding" to indicate that the tree is secured. Once the tree is in the stand, it's very stable. It has a lower center of gravity (and much more mass) than the traditional stand that it replaced. One added benefit with the Krinner is that it's very easy to remove the tree from the stand. This year, we ended up needing to move the tree, so being able to remove the tree from the stand and then replace it was much easier than it would have with the traditional 4 thumb screw stand. I really liked the large water capacity and the fill gauge on the Krinner too. During this season I only needed to add water once, and it was clear when that was needed because of the gauge. If you decide to purchase the Krinner - there is one piece of advice that I'd offer: when you are purchasing your tree, do the best that you can to select one with the straightest trunk possible. The gripping arms of the Krinner will come up in unison when you are pushing on the foot lever. If the trunk is curved, you can't really "cheat" one side for the other to balance the tree as you might with a traditional stand with the 4 individual screws. Having said that - the tree that we had this year did have a slight curve to is - and the Krinner handled it fine. Going forward though, I'm planning on taking more care to check the trunk just to be sure I'm getting one as straight as possible. Bottom line - it's a great product that works very well and I'm very glad I got it. ... show more

  • Best Tree Stand + an Investment!
If you get a real tree, you need this stand!! I was skeptical to pay this much but it's worth every penny. It's an investment that will last for years. The craftsmanship is incredible! It is ready to use out of the box, and is very hefty/sturdy so there's no concern about it tipping over. It's so easy to use too, my husband did it without me even needing me to assist. Took less than 2 minutes. The water indicator is so helpful with watering too. We bought this to replace an old plastic one with rusty screws and we're not looking back! I'm so happy with this product and can't wait to enjoy it for years to come! ... show more

  • Stable, Quality, 2 Seconds to Mount / remove tree single person, easy to monitor water level
Size: Large Standard
Just wow. Years of using the stand they hammer on at the tree stand to using the big metal bucket you get at Home Depot, and they all were terrible. They were all massive in size, leaked if not hammered in properly from the bottom or never held the tree properly with the screws. Especially a 6+ foot tree. Not to mention a pain to get the tree to be straight and get it out. This unit just solved everything in one shot. First, the unit is compact and sturdy. Second, I was able to single handed get the tree into the stand and press the pedal with my foot a few times to lock the tree in perfectly straight. 2 min operation with no fuss. And removal was 2 min by unlocking and it just releasing the tree. That alone was just the best, but then filling water and knowing if there is water in the bowl was easy. Instead of having to stick my hand in the bowl to see if there is water, there is a convenient water level that tells you how much is left and when to add more. It's just the perfect permanent stand I have been looking for years. Kudos to the company that made this perfect device. Oh, if you're wondering if it is stable. The extra legs that pop out make it perfectly stable. ... show more

  • Great quality! Great quality!
Size: XXL Standard
This is by far the best tree stand I have ever bought! I bought the xxl size. It is well made, has great features, and is a great guy for the money. It is very heavy duty and weighs a lot to help assure the tree will not fall over. Not cheap made. Very easy to put the tree in. One person can do it with no set up out of the box. You just open the clamp, set the tree in it, and step on the lever to clap it in. It has a great water level indicator to let you know when the tree needs water. No guessing! I am very impressed with this product and would recommend it to anyone! ... show more

  • The absolute best Christmas tree stand for a tall tree. The absolute best Christmas tree stand for a tall tree.
I gave a medium size stand to my son for an 8 ft tree after our use of a large size stand for our 10 ft trees. These stands are very stable and easy to secure the tree with just one person. The foot pedal is the magic part of this stand. You can stand up holding the tree while securing it with the foot pedal. The large water capacity and water-level indicator help you to keep your tree fresh through the holiday season. So, no need to rush it out to the curb! ... show more

  • Trim down excess branches & knots for a straight tree!
Size: XXL Standard
TLDR: easy & convenient to use with a small learning curve. If you get very skinny trees, pick the base size closest to the height you usually get. Great for crooked tree trunks but when inserting the tree, ensure the trunk is centered in the base and trim off any branches and knots that will be in the way of the clasps. This is an amazing quality stand. Definitely read the directions before and you’ll notice that it says to only fill the water until the floater just pops up. It can def hold a lot of water and the float is super helpful. I have the XXL and a 7-8ft tree so I could have gotten the M-L but wanted a stand that could grow with us if we lived somewhere we could have a much bigger tree. I noticed that our trunk is on the skinnier side and if you get trees with skinnier trunks, I would stay closer to the appropriate max height size as I’m not sure this one could hold well a tree too much skinnier than ours. Haven’t had issues with ours *leaking* water on its own per se. Which the instructions note can happen with overfilling and improper storage. But we had an issue where we had to move the stand around once it already had water in it and I noticed a tiny bit leaked out around the bottom so just be aware. Now for possibly the most important thing I noticed- the stand can 100% hold straight a very crooked tree trunk *IF* you make sure your tree is centered in the stand and you trim off any branches or knots that are close to where the feet that hold the tree in place are!!!! The people who cut our tree cut it at a HORRIFIC angle and we didn’t have the tools to fix it ourselves when we noticed it. The first two times we tried to install we had issues with it not being straight no matter what we did and leaning worse and worse every time we looked at it. BUT we got under the tree and noticed that 1. Our tree was definitely off centered within the base and 2. some low branches and some significant knots in the wood were preventing 2 of the clasps from fully and firmly engaging the trunk- the corners of the clasps were hitting and getting stopped by branches and knots. So the clasps closest to the tree were basically pushing the tree sideways toward the clasps that were barely engaging the tree. We recentered the tree in the stand and trimmed off the lowest branches with gardening shears and used an old knife to trim down the knots and once we did that, all the clasps were able to equally engage the trunk and we have had no issues yet. Also, I echo what others have said about only tighten until you feel it stop, don’t over tighten or you will have issues! Overall, I would definitely recommend this stand to everyone. It has a small learning curve but is super easy otherwise!! ... show more

  • One of the best designed products I have ever used. One of the best designed products I have ever used.
Size: XL Standard
This stand is probably one of the best products I have bought in the last few years. There are a few outstanding features that I would like to discuss in now particular order. 1. The built in water level indicator is quite helpful. No more do I need to futz with a seperate water source. Just pour the water into the base and you can see the water level with well marked lines. 2. The ratchet mechanism is well designed and easy to use with good feedback with the claws. The claws work extremely well and provide a solid hold with each person press of the lever. No more do I need to turn the eye screws of old. Additionally the old eye screw method used to become embedded in the trunk often causing more uneveness. 3. It is heavy enough with the additional water that I don't worry about it tipping over even for a 9 foot tall tree.So no more fishing line tie ups. 4. The cable that is between the claws are sturdy and well made resulting in a solid hold with equal pressure all around the trunk. The other tree stand eye screws would occasionally start to bend or become loosened if the tree started to dry out so the ability to do a quick ratchet if that happens will be helpful ... show more

  • Good stand, but not without issues
Size: XXL Standard
I bought this stand for Chrismas 2014, based on recommendations from a product review site. After many years of fighting with the screws on other stands, and having the reservoir run dry, the Krinner stand was a welcome change. We installed a Noble Fir on December 13, and we removed it on January 3. The tree was a little over 9 feet tall, with a trunk diameter of just over 6.5 inches. The stand worked quite well, and met most of my expectations. The foot-operated clamp worked well, and I was very happy with the water gauge. I think this was the first time we were able to keep a tree in water for the entire holiday period. As other reviewers have noted, the tree will absorb a lot of water initially, but after a week or so the tree needs water less frequently. The gauge works well, but may stick if tree needles get in the reservoir (and they probably will). Be prepared to tap the gauge gently, to make sure it is moving freely. There is also a spout located next to the gauge, which makes emptying the reservoir easier. Again, you may need to clear some needles out of the spout. The tree and stand were quite stable during use. The tree was steady throughout decoration and take-down. We don't have small children around, but I feel confident about the safety of this stand. There are a couple of issues of which you should be aware. First, unlike my old stand, you really must install and remove the tree with the stand resting flat on the floor. That means that you must be able to lift your tree about 8 inches, and move it approximately a foot, during installation and removal. Depending on the size of the tree (and it's weight), you will probably need two strong adults to do this. Installation required two adult men to lift the tree up in the vertical position, and lower it into the stand. Another helper was required to tell us when we had the trunk lined up with the mouth of the stand. Removal was a little easier, but still required 2 men to lift the tree out of the stand. Remember to have an old towel or protective cover located next to the stand to rest the trunk on, particularly when removing the damp trunk from the stand. The second issue is that after removing the tree, I noticed some damage to the upper surface of the stand, next to one of the claws. I do not know whether the damage occured during installation or removal of the tree. I contacted Krinner USA about it, and they replied that the damage was not covered under warranty, because it appeared that the claw had been pushed back beyond its normal operating range, crushing the plastic cover of the stand. Krinner USA indicates that this can't happen if the tree is within the specified range (up to 12 feet, with a trunk diameter up to 7 inches), and yet somehow it did happen despite the fact that our tree was within the specification. My guess is that it probably occurred when we were trying to lower the tree into the stand. Watch out that you do not bend the claws too far back during installation or removal. I think the damage is mainly cosmetic, and I don't think it will prevent me using the stand again in the future. On the whole I am satisifed with this stand. I think it works as advertised for medium to large trees. The foot clamp works well, as does the water gauge. Keep in mind that a large tree will require two strong adults to install, and be careful that you do not allow the claws to be pushed back too far, as damage to the stand cover may occur. ... show more
