  • Great
Great price for home sound system , very easy to setup and love the multiple connectivity. Bluetooth make it not just for TV but also allows me to play music through my computer or phone. Overall this speaker is well worth the price for me.

  • Hisses for now
Everything looks great and works easily but both speakers had a pretty bad hiss, especially through the left speaker output. Working on replacing so hopefully this was a one time issue.

  • CAICOUSTIC All-in-One 2-Way PA Speaker System
My first note is that the speaker stands are not as tall as you may be thinking. Pay close attention to the picture with the dimensions, because those are accurate. The AI generated images show the speakers above peoples heads, but at only 53", this isn't going to be possible. So if you're trying to get above the crowed, you'll need to set them up on a table or somewhere that adds another couple feet of height. The stands are light weight, but they're also flimsy, so make sure they're also kept away from people who might bump into them. Now, onto the rest of the kit. I do like that they provide an area to store cables and the microphone. So it's 1 item that houses the two speakers, all cables, and the mixer. The Microphone itself works, just note the pickup pattern (Polar Plot). Just keep the on/off slide button towards the speaker, and talk at it, not down into it for best results. If you're doing anymore more production related, you'll probably want to replace this eventually. But for the day to day user the mic is fine. Speakers work great. No power, just your 1/4" connector as the mixer is a 300 watt amp (Phantom power). This is nice as it means only 1 power cable that you have to worry about. I was getting a hiss on one speaker, so I swapped out the cable and luckily this solved my problem. So maybe consider upgrading the cables in the future. Now onto the mixer. I'm impressed by the feel of the knobs. They're set sturdy and spin nicely with just the right amount of resistance, making it easier to dial in the sound. I was able to dial everything in to get some nice clear music and have a speaker talk over the music, which is exactly what I needed this for. Just remind people who may not be familiar with mics and speakers to not stand in front of the speakers! But that's my problem, not this PA system. The listing claims the mixer is 8 channels and I was going to argue that. What they're counting as channels are: - 3 x 1/4"/XLR in ports with individual controls. One of these you'll need for the Mic which is XLR - Bluetooth - USB - 3.5mm Aux In - 1/4" L/R In - RCA In For outputs, past the 1/4" out to the speakers, you have RCA output, a 1/4" Monitor out, 1/4" sub out. Over all, this isn't the best kit in the world, however, for the price, and everything you get, this is a great kit. My only big gripe is that I wish the speakers had an XLR port as well, but that's okay. ... show more

  • Punchy Sound With An Incredibly Portable Design
From a DJing perspective, even though this won’t be used for my large scale events, it definitely gets the job done for around 40 person house parties and family gatherings. Even beyond the full sound of the speakers, one of the most impressive things about this set is the ingenious design. Basically, the mixer’s slim profile clicks into both speakers, allowing it to literally become a carrying case. It also allows the set to pack up well when it’s not in use. There’s a compartment in the back of the mixer that has 3 separate sections for each one of the included cables. Sound wise, you’re looking at two slightly heavy 8” speakers that are relatively small. Despite the size of speakers, the stereo separation is crystal clear. You’ll also notice that unlike most 8” speakers, the increased price point means that you’re getting a good amount of bass. That was pretty surprising at first, especially after testing out another 8” speaker set that sounded very good, which lacked bass. The mixer is feature packed too, and having a dedicated mixer that’s not crammed onto the back of either one of the speakers allows it to have some impressive features. You have 3 combo XLR inputs, which allow for 1/4th cable inputs as well. There are several benefits of using XLR cables, some of which includes impedance and signal interference protection. The biggest benefit of XLR cables is the way they naturally add a decibel boost due to the way they transmit sound. The mixer enables you to add mic, or line in instrument gain with all 3 of the XLR combo inputs. For people who like to have control over every aspect of their inputs, the combo jacks give you treble, which cuts the higher pitch frequencies down, as well as mids and bass. When it comes to output, the 5 band equalizer is highly efficient at giving you impressive sounding results. Raising the 100 Hz levels gives you much more prominent bass, which effectively elevates the sound of your music. The phantom power switch is highly important for XLR based condenser microphones. You’ll definitely need to make sure that your mic requires it before turning it on, because you can permanently damage your microphone if it isn’t needed. There are a few different reverb presets that also allow you to control the depth. On top of all of that, there are two more 1/4th line inputs, as well as RCA and 3.5mm aux inputs. The RCA output allows you to essentially add another set of speakers, and the subwoofer output allows you to significantly boost the overall bass. I tested all of the inputs and outputs, including the bass, and as usual, the best sounding results will always come from uncompressed Flac or Wave files, followed by 320Kbps MP3s. With all of the positives, the hiss should be mentioned. When it comes to PA speakers, that’s pretty natural. As a DJ, I’ve owned and used all kinds of speakers, from the entry level EV ZLX line, to the EV Evolve 50m series of line arrays, as well as the QSC K12.2s. Despite the massive price differentials, they all have varying levels of low level hiss. With this CaiCoustic set, the hiss becomes less pronounced when you cut the maximum sound output level by 2 decibels. You can cut it down even further by keeping the volume of each speaker input in the middle. While Bluetooth connections are naturally lossy, the natural sound profile, in addition to the tight sounding bass, goes a long way toward masking those inherent issues. These are getting 5 stars for their cleverly portable design, combined with crisp sound, especially with the right music files and equalizer settings. The generously complete set of accessories, such as the cables, tripod stands and full featured mixer, also contributed to my overall score. As long as you remember that these are for smaller events, and not loud, crowded venues, you’ll have a very good experience with them. There’s a very important thing to note, my speaker set came with a thin power cable that was incredibly loose when it was plugged into the mixer’s power supply. Since that’s definitely a fire hazard, if your power cable also has this issue, replace it with a new power cable right away before you even turn your speakers on. My power cable replacement fit perfectly into the mixer without any issues. ... show more
