First the good: This latch works EXACTLY as shown. The bad is that it works EXACTLY as shown. For my application, I thought the slide on the latch bar would be helpful to keep it out of the way when not in use. It does do that but it is also a bit of a pain to have to make sure it is fully extended before latching the gate. I should probably have given the product 5 stars and myself 3 stars for not expecting this issue.
