  • This is a little beast!
I have beat the crap out of this laptop and it's running strong. I did increase the ram and added a m.2 ssd. The speed and capability of this laptop is fantastic for the price. The screen quality is stunning and I have had many people compliment me on it's stunning appearance. This was a great product for the money. ... show more

  • Dell o Lenovo
Excelente portátil, si comparas a Dell con Lenovo es como comparar un Ferrari con un BMW. Ambos son muy buenos, pero la exclusividad, los materiales y la calidad es muy diferente.

  • Absolute trash
I'm not even using it for gaming yet, simply trying to use it for discord and internet browsing and has constant issues with detecting my mic, constantly disconnects from my internet without warning. I CONSTANTLY have to reinstall my mic for the computer to recognize it, seriously absolute trash, stay away from this laptop as much as you can. I can't think of 2 things more important to gaming than internet connection and your mic, and in both of these categories it fails incredibly before I even launched a single game. I'm seriously DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! ... show more

  • A Beautifully Designed Computer!
Right out of the box, I really liked the design of this computer. Actually, even before it was out of the box, I was struck by how beautiful the packaging is. One might wonder why the packaging is important. Well, it's because you can see the attention to detail that was paid to every aspect of the product's presentation. That counts in my book, and makes me think that all aspects of the product have been thought through with equal care. I was under the impression that Alienware computers are something new. However, not true! Alienware has been around since the 1990s, as I have learned. There is a video that shows Alienware's history if you click on the picture called 'Alienware: Built for Beyond the Game', higher up on this page in the 'Brands' section. Once you click through, the video is on the connected web page. Anyway, let's talk about this computer and what I like about it first. As I already mentioned, I like how it looks. It has a very industrial feel to it and a heft. It feels very solid in your hands. The screen is a nice size for a Laptop (not too, too tiny). I really love the honeycomb design above the keyboard, the illuminated Alien that is the Power Button, and the backlit keys. The main backlight color is blue, but when you're doing certain things, they cycle through different colors. It really is beautiful! The back of the display screen has a blue illuminated alien and a pretty blue band of light around the bottom back of the computer. The default wallpaper has a detailed Alien face, which gives you an idea of how great the graphics are (see photo). Note that some of my photos don't show off the graphics to their best advantage. That's not the computer's fault, though. The Alien photo came out as I had hoped. You'll note in one of the other photos that all that is on the Desktop is the Recycle Bin and Microsoft Edge icons. I like that the screen is not cluttered up with a bunch of promotional junk. However, there is some stuff on the computer, as you can see in one of my photos. It was fairly easy to get through the initial start-up of the computer. However, this was when I started feeling slightly less happy. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but I just want to turn on the computer and go. For something that is a personal computer, I don't want to have to sign into it. For this computer, you do. It asked for my Microsoft Account, which right away tells me that Microsoft is forcing me to play their game with this computer. After that, it also made me set up a PIN. It advised that it can use Facial Recognition to sign in, but I did not opt for that. It then presented a bunch of Privacy Settings, at which point it advised that it can give you App and Site suggestions and Free Trials. It also stated that it will save everything in OneDrive, which is a back-up solution. Again, this is Microsoft herding you along to get you to do what they want you to do. Next up were the actual free offers of 1) one month of Microsoft 365 (credit card required) and 2) a free trial to Xbox Game Pass for $1, but it did not tell you what the future charges would be. Needless to say, I refused these offers. After that, there were Preferences and Privacy and Telemetry Agreements. The whole Telemetry thing is completely new to me. Look it up if you're interested to know what it is. Somewhere along the line it also had me set up an Internet connection (very easy). So, I'll be honest. I haven't had a chance to play any games on it yet. However, if you're a gamer, you can probably tell a lot about this computer's capabilities from the information provided on this page. Information that was on a tag on the box and that is not as apparent (if included at all) on this page is: Includes Wireless-AX & Bluetooth HDMI & USB Type-C Nahimic 3D Audio Alienware RGB Backlit Keyboard Also, note that this is a Dell product and comes with a 1 year Limited Hardware Warranty. It does have a Webcam built in. When starting it for the first time, I had to press the Power button. However, upon starting it for the second time, it was 'instant on' when I raised the Display Screen. Overall, this is a really attractive computer with a beautiful keyboard and display. Sadly, I had to take away one star for all of the Microsoft requirements. ... show more

  • Awesome upgrades to previous gen
The M15 R7 packs some serious upgrades that have been needed for a while. The last of couple releases have had known overheating and fan noise issues. THEY FINALLY FIXED THIS ISSUE. Even activating the performance profile there’s really not much of a sound difference. There are 2 cold air intakes and 4 exhaust ports. I also use a cooling stand which I still recommend but I’m stoked about these issues being fixed. Alienware really stepped up their performance and did it all without sacrificing form factor. I can’t really tell the difference between the R6 and R7 which is incredible given all the changes. Another great add is the addition of Wi-Fi 6E (supports legacy) and you still get the gigabit Ethernet port. A 1/8” jack for your headsets, 2 USB Type-A (5 Gb/s data rates). One has PowerShare, which allows it to charge your phone, even when your laptop is off. I usually opt to upgrade my memory and these come with 2 SO-DIMM slots right under the bottom cover that are easy to get to. There is also a pair of M.2 slots that max at 4TB of ssd and easy to get to if you need to expand storage. The Dark Side of the Moon color scheme is awesome, and the rgb mechanical keyboard is super responsive and looks great. You can customize the rgb down to each key. Alienware is super customizable which is why I always opt for it for gaming. I was able to run my games on full graphics (1920x1080) with no issues. Battery life is decent and overall this is a huge upgrade to the previous gen. There are enough changes (huge ones) that make this a worthy upgrade especially if you’re dealing with graphics lag, heat or fan issues. I rely heavily on reviews when making purchases. I hope you found this helpful! ... show more

  • Guys seriously… worst engineering for a gaming laptop I’ve ever seen
I went out of my way to write this review as to just ensure I can warn people about Dell’s incompetence in the engineering department. I have so many complaints about this laptop (15 years experience in computer engineering) and it’s honestly made me too upset to describe. Switch over to any other brand I promise it will be better than Alienware these days. ... show more
