Pc works great it’s fast has enough memory for most of my library of games and mods. Although I should’ve looked more into the parts inside as swapping is more inconvenient due to all the Alienware only proprietary parts.

Solid PC, would recommend 32GB of ram for gaming as at idle it uses 8-9GB. Still solid for the price point.

  • made it easy to start switching ecosystems
processor_description: Intel Ultra 7F memory_size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5060Ti
Long time Mac user here...who happens to do all my gaming on a console (until now). As an artist, it has always been easier and more useful to me to use Mac computers. I appreciate products that don't require hefty troubleshooting on the customer's part, so that ecosystem was always preferable. As of late, the reasons to be in that ecosystem have dwindled, and I took the opportunity to try something different. My gaming was always on Xbox, but that came with so many restrictions that eventually it just felt like the biggest thing holding me back from enjoying gaming was being able to, you know...actually play the games I want to. I use a Series X, so I at least wanted worked that well and looked that good, for a person that isn't really into "performance" gaming. I just want a game to run as smoothly as intended to have the experience the designers and engineers worked so hard on. But I was nervous getting a windows computer again, they were always more work than the problems they solved. This time, I could tell it was going to be different. Between my wife and I, we have had many many windows computers. She even had an Alienware from days of old...a laptop that was her bar for performance after using it. This setup went the smoothest of any windows machine either of us has ever set up. It was the first time for both of us that there wasn't compatibility issues from the start. It was flawless, and an even better experience than the custom build she had last been using for her gaming. Everything just worked out of the box. The built in guides made setup easy, though it still takes just as much time to do all the updates that are just part of the process for a windows machine. I will say that when spun up and doing intensive tasks, power consumption does jump, and we had to get a separate dedicated uninterrupted power supply to put this machine on. Since then everything has been perfect. To start testing, we tried a variety of tasks, from video editing, audio creation, to back to back 12 hour days of gaming. Not one issue, and it was the coolest I have ever had a tower remain while doing that much work...they really seemed to have nailed the cooling on this one. Now...to be fair, we didn't play any games at 4k super high frame rate, as neither of us really play those games much anymore...but when I threw video editing at it, and it did just fine, I knew we were good. I will still use the Mac I have for that specific task, it is just a bigger better build than this, but for our purposes...general gaming and a home media center...this thing almost perfect. I am not sold on the size of it sitting next to my TV, nor of the super cheap keyboard and mouse you have to immediately replace if you actually want to use this computer for gaming...but I'll get used to seeing it, and I would have bought a new keyboard and mouse anyways...so it may as well be perfect for our situation. Would happily get again, if for no other reason than to know that you can leave the ecosystem you are in if you want...there is no longer the gap in performance there used to be. If you ARE going to do heavy tasking like video editing, you will definitely want more memory than this model, the one we tried having only 16G. But it is acceptably fast, and that memory amount will definitely be enough for light to medium users. I can happily recommend this powerful machine to those users. Performance gamers and content creators will want to step up memory. Simply put...I was not expecting to like this Alienware gaming tower so much. But I really really do. ... show more

  • Simply Amazing Desktop PC
processor_description: Intel Ultra 7F memory_size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5060Ti
Recently, I made a decision to go back to a desktop style PC as opposed to my laptop since I’m not traveling as much anymore after retiring. So when I saw the listing for this Alienware Aurora ACT1250 desktop, I clicked on it immediately. I knew that Alienware is a subsidiary of Dell Technologies. My very first laptop, eons ago, was a Dell Inspiron so the relationship between Alienware and Dell made the decision to order pretty easy. After a couple weeks working with this machine, I can readily recommend it. It’s fast and powerful and setup was quick and easy. The version of Windows 11 Home was less intrusive than some earlier versions (didn’t include a bunch of ads for additional, but for me irrelevant, MS software) and I was able to load my previous software, wireless printer, speakers and game favorites with no issues. And my Bluetooth headphones paired effortlessly. Bravo, Alienware and Dell! That’s how a transition from one PC or laptop to another should be. This Aurora ACT1250 came with a wired keyboard and mouse. The keyboard is very quiet with soft stroke keys so I’m using it for now. However, I opted for a wireless, rechargeable mouse that I already had and installed a 27” curved monitor. Both were stupid simple Plug & Play accessories. It’s also a very attractive unit with a multitude of USB (both A and C), DP and HDMI ports. If you’re in the market for an amazing PC or looking to upgrade from an older one, I suggest you give this Alienware Aurora a shot. I have and I rate it at 5 STARS. ... show more

  • Nice computer out of the box with some customization options
processor_description: Intel Ultra 7F memory_size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 5060Ti
I usually build my own computers to save money, and my primary use case is personal business use with some video editing and music production. The manual mentions 4 RGB lighting zones: power button, bezel ring at the front, rear chassis fan, and liquid cooler. This computer just came with a standard CPU fan. I do have an RGB CPU fan that I thought about swapping in, but unfortunately, the RGB connectors on this motherboard are proprietary and won't connect to third-party LEDs or light controllers. Other customization that I have toyed with: There are two m.2 NVMe slots with a 1 TB 2230 m.2 SSD card installed. I have added an additional 2 TB SSD that I already had. The motherboard has 2 RAM slots. With 16 GB of memory included (2x8 GB) and supports up to 64 GB (2x32). It takes the same DDR5 memory that I had in my last custom computer from 2023, so I did upgrade to 32 GB by swapping around (I had way too more than necessary in my other computer. I'm not much of a gamer, but the 5060TI graphics card is much better than what I've been using. My cousin is a gamer, so I might try out some online games with him soon. Overall, it's a pretty nice computer out of the box and an upgrade to my 20 month old computer I'm most ways. I'm able to customize some things, but I'm just used to having much more control over all the hardware add-ons. I was concerned because I use a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface and the specs didn't list Thunderbolt support. My interface is recognized successfully on the USB4 port. ... show more
