I did a lot of research when replacing my old hand pump backpack sprayer with a battery powered one. One of the features that helped me decide on this sprayer was the self-cleaning feature. I have a large pond and need to spray algicides in order to keep the surface clean. That leads me to the second reason I chose this sprayer. It sprays at least 30 feet horizontally depending on wind and chemicals being sprayed. When I received the sprayer, I was immediately impressed with the manner in which it was packaged. After some minor assembly and charging the battery, it was ready for use. I ran a tank of plain water in it first to see the different spray patterns of the three included tips. After that, I mixed up some algicide and put the sprayer to use. I was a little concerned at first that the straps did not include straps across the stomach. After properly adjusting the straps, I realized that a strap across the stomach was not necessary. It does have a strap with buckle across the chest. The unit is very comfortable on the back and the on/off/variable pressure dial is easy to reach. When I finished spraying, I rinsed the tank since I used the entire mixture minus just a very small amount in the bottom of the tank. I poured a bucket of water and attached the self-cleaning pickup hose. I flipped the diverter valve to clean and pumped plain water through the pump, hose, and nozzle. It doesn't get any easier than this. The battery has a lot of charge left in it so there is no need to charge it after each use. Given all of the choices out there, I am really glad I picked this one. Absolutely no leaks, a strong performer, and not at all uncomfortable on the back. This is a solid piece of equipment.     • Very high quality sprayer with very strong pressure and volume
I have been using a 5-gallon Solo backpack sprayer but needed something I could keep off of my not so healthy back. So, I got this cart sprayer. I was pleasantly surprised how well-built the sprayer is. All the components look to be top-notch. My Solo wand broke several times but it was cheap plastic and this is a stainless steel wand with a high-quality metal spray nozzle. The battery life looks to be very good, something like 6-8 tanks based on how it is going so far. In terms of performance it is very powerful -- it feels like it is several times more powerful than my backpack sprayer even though it is only rated at ~50% more psi. The spray is both finer and higher-volume than a backpack sprayer and so will cover 3-4 times faster. It seems to be somewhere between the hand-pump sprayers and the air-blast sprayers in terms of the rate and how fine the mist is. I have had no problems at all using the sprayer, just put a few parts together, charge the battery, and start spraying. The only thing I found a bit odd is the sprayer makes funny noises when it gets low, I think the motor is trying to clear out a potential clog. There is a special self-cleaning setting but I have not used it as it seems primarily useful if you are leaving chemical in the tank but want to flush out the pump/wand. I just flush out the whole thing when I am done. The hose length ends up being OK but I would prefer a longer hose. The supplier said they would be listing a hose extension in a few months and I plan on getting one. It would also be nice to have a wand extension option, it is working better than I thought on higher trees due to the high pressure but overall it would be easier to get the spray higher up with a wand extension. ... show more

    • very much worth the cost - a really good sprayer - just buy it
This is a really nice professional-quality powered sprayer. 2.5 gallons is plenty for me to carry on my back. The pump is well up to the task. The wand is long enough that you can squirt weed spray at the base of plants without a lot of grief. When you get it, don’t make the same mistake I did. It has a big door in the back for the battery. So I looked for a big battery. I thought something was wrong and had the first one replaced by Amazon. The second one had the same small battery. It looks small, but has plenty of charge to handle the load in the sprayer. I again apologize to the manufacturer. This is far superior to carrying a pump-up sprayer. It’s very well made. The price is right. The yellow weed spraying nozzle puts down a mist of spray on the target weeds, and it still has some range to spraying. Also, being powered, cleans up quickly. ... show more
