The basket looks exactly like pictured. With its 9.5" diameter and 3.5" high, it can hold a dozen of apples and/or oranges easily. If you can line it with towel or paper towel and use it as a bread basket, or use it any way you'd like. Like other Alessi's products, it has a sturdy construction and feels like a high-quality basket (there's no indication on the basket or its box that shows where it's made). Designed by Ufficio Tecnico Alessi in 1948, it's truly a classic. Well, it'd better have the quality and the looks since the price ain't no pocket change. As much as I like Alessi's products, I still think they're overpriced.
