    • Nice piece. However, beware that it is plastic.
Nice design, as most Alessi items are. However, I was surprised that the base of the dish is actually plastic and not glass. It is thick plastic, but I'm sure it will scratch with the years. Overall, it is very cute and our family enjoys our buttered toast just that little bit more because of it.

Don't make assumptions. Wouldn't you expect a $57.99 butter dish to be GLASS??? It's not. It's PLASTIC. Sheesh. Very cute, whimsical design, but I had to send it back.
