I literally never write online reviews like this but I really wanted to share my experience with this couch. We just received our Kova Sectional and it was a complete nightmare until we figured out assembly today. Now I’m content with it, but I didn’t have the sense to google any reviews before purchasing, and if I had, I wouldn’t have bought it. But what’s done is done. I went on a huge couch search and decided on Albany Park because of the fast shipping time. (Our other favorite option was Crate and Barrel, but the couches we wanted from them weren’t going to be available till December, and it’s currently July 15th). The couch came super fast, like, 3 weeks, which I was grateful for. Also, we got it in the Olive Velvet color, and it is absolutely stunning. If you’re looking for a soft couch, this couch is NOT it. You can feel the frame underneath it—my bf and I are looking at getting foam to put underneath the cushions or something. That said, even though it’s firm, it’s not uncomfortable. I find it to be quite supportive. But it’s definitely not soft and cushiony (like many folks want in a couch). But what I really want to talk about is ASSEMBLY. This shit is a nightmare. I had to email customer service and they sent me a separate assembly video that is nowhere in their marketing materials. Long story short, the back and arm rests DO fit together, but you have to literally BULLY THEM INTO SUBMISSION to get them to go in. You can’t just simply tap them in, you need to get a hammer and HAMMER it in. It took three adults to do it. However, I will say, now that they are hammered in together, it is sturdy as HELL. Like, the frame is not gonna budge. If you’re looking for something big and affordable and pretty and sturdy, this is a good couch. But if you have $$ to spend on something a little nicer from a well-trusted furniture brand, I would do that instead. ... show more

    • Terrible, not worth the money
The actual couch is decent but this thing is a NIGHTMARE to put together. The hardware and latches DO NOT fit and you most definitely will need to finesse to MAKE it fit. I watched that video maybe about 10 times and there’s no way in hell I have the same couch they have in that video. I’m deeply annoyed that I spent so much my money on something that was so poorly made. 0/10, would not recommend. ... show more

We like this sofa. We've had it for 13 days now so I can't speak to how well it holds up. And I wouldn't say it is like sitting on a cloud, but it is comfortable & not stiff. At first we thought the brackets on the base were placed incorrectly. But then we realized it is just that every corner piece is exactly the same, whether it is on the right or the left. That means on one side the longer piece is in the back, and on the other the longer piece is on the side, since it is exactly the same, just turned 90 degrees. It looks fine with cushions on it. We likely never would have noticed if we hadn't put it together ourselves. This is a super deep sofa. I am almost 6' tall and if I sit all the way back my feet don't touch the floor.     • Pieces don’t fit

The pieces don’t fit together how they are intended to. There clearly is no quality check going on before there couches are boxed and shipped. After trying to put the arm rests/backs on for over an hour, we realized that the fasteners weren’t spaced properly/and or we’re out on backwards, making it impossible to put the couch together without drilling new holes and shifting the fasteners. Absolutely unacceptable in a piece of furniture this expensive. I’ll update my review based on how customer service handles/resolves the issue. ... show more

    • These people oughta be charged with False Advertising!
First these sofas are pricey! So personally I think they should be delivered to the room where they are to be put together. But alas they were put in my garage…8 large boxes. No way one person could carry these anywhere, so I enlisted the help of my 2 teenagers. I’m a stickler for reading all instructions before assembling anything so I watched the video at least 5 times. No problem, right? WRONG! Not one piece slid into place as easily as the video suggest. We had to get a hammer to finish working them in place. Long story short, it took hours and a break inbetween to get this thing together. I did have an issue with a slight tear in one of the corners but after exhausting every avenue to get customer service to actually offer any customer service I finally gave up and decided my sanity was not worth the worry any longer. Bottom line….unless you really love this sofa and have a friend that is a licensed contractor to help you get it put together move on….keep looking….trust me you don’t want to deal with this especially for the amount of $$$$you spent. ... show more
