This is my second Rivnut tool. I kept breaking the smaller mandrels with the first one. This 16" Rivnut tool from AKKTOL works well. It came with detailed instructions the other one did not have. It provides a chart that allows you to calculate the stroke length for the size of Rivnut and the thickness of the metal that you are inserting it into. I attached a PNG of the chart, to which I have done part of the calculation for one size of Rivnut. Using that value and watching the stroke gauge results in a tight compression of the Rivnut, without overstressing the mandrel. Since using this chart I have not broken any mandrel - even with the 6-32 size. The set comes nicely packaged and the set of mandrels is more complete than the other brands. One last tip - all mandrels are brittle as they are hardened - make sure you are square to the workpiece. Going off-axis is a sure way to break a mandrel as you squeeze the handles. ... show more

Great value for all the dies, tool and case. Convenient in the way it all packaged and the provided inserts. The 10-24 die broke in first use. Third nut broke the die. I was using the wrong nut for the thickness of material I was setting it into. Make sure you note the thickness of the material you are setting the nuts into. Too thick, and depending on which type of nut you're using the nut will not grab either side of the material properly. This makes sense when you think of it. There are longer nuts made for different material thicknesses. Each nut has serrated markings etched in to compress and pinch the material for setting. Make sure you read the specs on the nuts you are using carefully. I reached out to AKKTOL and they walked me through the adjustment procedure and sent more detailed instructions and they replaced the die. It was my mistake and not a problem with the tool. They contacted me several times to make sure I was satisfied and they even sent out a variety of nuts that were longer. Very happy with their customer support and they stand behind their products and ensure the customer is happy. ... show more

Quality product, worked great and I liked came with a 10-32 mandrill as well. I used it to install some 1/4-20 screw eyes on a wrought iron gate. Was able to use stainless steel rivet nuts with no problem. Looked great not having a bunch of nuts and washers showing on the other side

Awesome Product I've purchased 4 of these for a small manufacturing business, I use a specific size mandrel (10-32) I'm also about 1/2 way through my 3rd box qty. of 5,000 Rivnuts so I would say they work very well, and when I did start to have problems with 1 of them I contacted AKKTOL and ("NO QUESTIONS ASKED" they sent me a whole new Kit.) Worth the money that's why I have 4 of them, so rest assure IF you happen to have any problems with this tool or just need help customer service is there for you! Hands Down GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
