    • Works really well
I got this in order to set up the Victron ESS on my Victron solar charge converter and MultiPlus inverter/charger system. In particular I wanted to be able to prioritize using solar power instead of the generator when both were available. It took a bit of doing to set up the ESS assistant with the MultiPlus, but now it all works really well. I like having the control panel show up on my smartphone, though I wish Victron would allow connections to the control panel via bluetooth and an app instead of via wifi only. Other than that I'm happy with it. Victron has been great for supporting system integration and maximal control over all the parameters, and I would buy their system components again. ... show more

    • VRM instructions are terrible
The VRM portal rejected my attempt to register the Cerbo GX. I received this in a whitebox with no Victron markings. No cables other than the power cable and no instructions. The instructions on Victron's website to "install" it on the VRM site were to use the "VRM ID" from the sticker on the side of the Cerbo. This was blatantly misleading. The only way I figured out what number to use was by trial-and-error. When I saw the Cerbo on my network, I noticed a number beside it and so, with nothing to lose, I tried that. It worked! Victron equipment is the best but it is not good salesmanship to mislead your customers with nonsense about how to connect the Cerbo to VRM. Edit 2024: So I bought another Cerbo (original one is in the solar shed and new one in the attached garage). For some inexplicable reason, the WIFI on the garage cerbo just would not connect -- despite being much closer to the router. So I did a little digging -- Victron is aware of this issue and recommends plugging a WIFI dongle into one of the USB jacks. This worked for me, however, had I not had one laying on my desk, I would've been very irritated at the need to run out and buy another piece of gear. Another annoyance: Victron nickles and dimes you for the VE direct cables. Also, the Cerbo does not talk to the battery sense modules. ... show more

Delivered on time and good condition. Victron products are so well made and easy to use it really is the standard. This product is the monitor for all victron products and even other products too. Glad I added it to my solar setup on our RV. Works like a champ and has lots of features. Don't skimp on reading the manual or checking online. Plus think about the length of the cable's and type of cables you will need. It doesn't come with cables to connect it.

    • This completes my system
The Cerbo GX is the one piece of equipment that completes my system. I can now keep and eye on all of my Victron Energy equipment I have in my solar power system. I can see all aspects of my system and make changes to keep my system optimized for peak output. I now have a window on my solar charge controllers, inverter/charger, SmartShunts and batteries. I can now see all of this per WiFi from anywhere in the world. The information I see is highly configurable allowing me to see only the information that is important to me. I can set up alarms that alert me to anything that I feel is important. I can go on and on about this device, but one thing is for sure, it works and it is very reliable Victron Energy quality. 5 stars. ... show more
