  • One of my favorites!
Color: Piano V3 Pro
Akko is killing it this year with their switches. While I would like to still be able to purchase the original Piano Pro switches as they sound a little deeper I picked this up to try and they sound and feel amazing. I think I have purchased about 6 different kinds of Akko switches this year and thus far I pretty much love them all. This one definitely has a nice pop to it but is still pretty deeps. The lightness of the feel means it's perfect for gaming and is in my primary board. This will definitely bring a muted board to life and make one with little damping truly pop! Super smooth, no need to hand lube at all and little to no stem wobble. Although the housing isn't clear there is excellent light pass through if you are an RGB fan. The last thing to note about this one and actually all of the Akko switches is the packaging. It's amazing, out of the hundreds of switches I have purchased not a single one had a bent pin. I attribute this to their packaging and the care they take to put it together. These are a few cents more per switch than their cheapest options but definitely worth the extra cost. ... show more

  • Super clacky!!!
These are by far the best switches made by Akko. I've used Akko's Wine Reds, Jelly Blacks and Cream Yellows and these by far have the most satisfying feeling for typing, their sound profile like light raindrops on your window. As a fan of the lighter linear switches, I'm quite happy with how incredible they feel to type compared to the Jelly Blacks, they're not too heavy to actuate like the Jellly Blacks and not too light like the Wine Reds. They're just right. Unlike the other newer switch offerings by Akko, RGB also doesn't get tinted in any color which is also another added bonus if you're an RGB fiend. They're also super cheap and really easy to lube, making these an incredible switch option for beginning keyboard enthusiasts. 100% recommend these switches! ... show more

  • First switches bought and I already like them.
TL;DR Out of the box, they are decently smooth and has a slight pop, but a more clack sound. After lubing, they have a deeper and creamier pop sound. For this price, they are one of the best budgets linear switches to get, and I recommend this for people that want that creamy, soft, pillow-like feel, and amazing sound. I purchased the Yellow Creams V3. If you are more into poppy sounds and a creamy feel, then this is the one! Let’s push the cost of these switches to the side, and look at it straight on. With them stock, they create this pop but more of a clack sound, and they are decently smooth right out the box. They do have a kailh box style housing which are made to be tight, so they don’t need to be filmed, and they have a cherry mx style stem, which are compatible with cherry profile keycaps. After lubing the switches, they now give a smoother, creamier, and deeper pop. They sound and feel so clean and nice, combined with a light actuation force and linear feeling. 10/10 as budget linear switches, and would recommend. ... show more

  • amazing tactile on a budget
The media could not be loaded. TL;DR these are a fantastic buy for the price, if you like a very distinct tactile bump or want to try tactile switches out, give these a shot! If you don't like 'em, you didn't bust a hole in your wallet trying to find out. Now, I don't have a ton of background with the custom mechanical keyboard scene. I've been interested for the better part of the past 6 months and within the past month or so finally started raw dawging this hobby. I bought a GMMK TKL to replace my Ducky One 2 SF and dropped in some kailh box browns and was overall pretty disappointed with the sound and feel. I have more background with linears at this point, using cherry reds, kailh box reds and gateron yellows, and I had a suspicion the box browns weren't doing tactiles justice. I did some research and bought these after checking out some reviews, and decided to 𝘨𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘮 on my Ducky board and de-solder the old switches and replace the stabilizers and keycaps. (unrelated but for any of you using ducky boards, be cautious of the screw holes, they strip like nobody's business and are basically useless with the stock screws after opening it up.) These AKKO switches are astonishingly better than the box browns. The browns were scratchy and, while the tactility was good, the sound was atrocious. These, on the other hand, are impressively smooth with no lube. I tried some krytox 205g0 in one switch and some g lube in another, and overall didn't notice that much of a difference. There is very noticeable spring ping that I couldn't really get to go away easily. I tried bag lubing with 105g0 oil on 10 switches (used way more oil than should have been needed) and there was still a very loud ping when pressing the switch on its own, not in a board. once in the board though, frankly I couldn't hear it, and the ping itself was fairly low pitched and not harsh anyways imo. In the photos I included you can see the side profile of the stem and, comparing it to some side shots of other popular switches, it looks like its most comparable to the Durock T1's in terms of its shape. The stem pole however looks to be closer to a Halo Clear with it being a long boy. Note I haven't used those switches, so I can't properly compare, just going based off visuals. In the video I included, I did add both a thin layer of packing foam to the case 𝘢𝘯𝘥 applied the tape mod to the back of the pcb, which I found gave the board a much poppy-er sound and helped mute the higher resonances of the switch. The switches are stock and the stabilizers have been lubed. Lastly, I just wanna say that I 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 the way these look. The blue is a very nice color, very much closer to true blue than teal or purple. They call it ocean blue and I think that name fits. It's superfluous, but it's really nice to have a switch in my board that I think looks nice and the case allows me to see the bottom housing anyways so I get a constant reminder of just how pretty these are. So yeah, definite recommendation. I imagine, like gateron yellows, if you're familiar with the more premium sector the of the market, then these won't be anything special. BUT, for those of you who are new like me, or are on a tight budget, get these. I think you'll love them. ... show more

  • Creeeeaaamy!
After months of listening to keyboard sound tests on YouTube, I finally decided on these switches for the super creamy sound! I just got into the keyboard hobby, and these seemed like the perfect entry level switches that weren't too expensive, while still sounding premium. Once lubed, they feel like typing on a cloud! My only complaint (and take this with a grain of salt, because I haven't tested too many switches yet) is that the "quick release" of the switch lets out a loud popping noise. If I am typing normally, it sounds fine. But, as soon as I start typing faster, it becomes noticeably louder. I noticed that if I press down the switch, then quickly snap my finger out of the way, it lets out the popping noise. I think it may have to do with my keycaps too. I got a cheaper ABS/PBT hybrid set, but I plan on upgrading soon. I will come back and edit this review if I figure out a fix for this! ... show more

  • Smooth, satisfying, great sound
I got these a while ago, but they have held up amazing. I installed them in my Tecware TKL phantom, and they are really incredible.
