After a few months of use, it’s working just fine. Honestly this is the closest thing to a DS. It plays, sounds and looks great. I was so surprised because there was a lot of backlash about this product. However I have not experienced any issues from this product. It was sent to me ready to use and that was a huge relief for me considering the price. Now I will say the few 3ds game I’ve tried played around 50% of the speed. For me it’s fine because I wanted a ds like not a 3ds like and this fits right in. If it was a bit cheaper I’d say it would be perfect. The shipping and delivery was great I appreciate that. The quality of this product feels very good, surprisingly good and the weight is perfect. I got this just for DS games, but it can play other stuff too around the same scope of power. Only a 4 star cause of price otherwise I would had given it a 5

The RG DS gets a lot of unnecessary hate online, I took a chance on it and and can't be happier. Plays DS games flawlessly. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to emulate DS games.

1. Uninstall Drastic. Install Drastic again from scratch. 2. Don’t use the included launcher, it can’t scrape anything, has no artwork, and barely functions. 3. Download ES-DE from the included APK store. 4. Download ES-DE Companion App from the APK Store as well to display artwork on the top screen while you browse games on the bottom screen. 5. Change “Game Launcher” in settings to “ES-DE” Leave off companion app for faster browsing and startup. 6. Use the home button to switch out of the Frontend anytime it is “slow” and close any background apps you may have left open, or simply switch back to reshift app focus. Anyone complaining it doesn’t work simply hasn’t used a stock Anbernic device before, they never work stock and usually require Custom Firmware to be playable… this does not. It comes playable right away with the newest stock firmware, and with the above steps becomes a better device for DS games than any other competitor (ie: that has the wrong screen format or upper analog sticks) where as this can easily be put in NATIVE ASPECT RATIO mode and look fine with a border, or stretched at a 1.5 rate which isn’t bad for these types of games either, when laying a nice LCD Grid Shader over the top that is….

Everything arrived on time and unharmed. Lets get into the positives and negatives of this product. The positives is that this device works. The picture quality is great, the sounds are perfect. The Operating system works in Android 14 which is ok. The build quality is great. Its not too heavy or too big to carry around. The negatives. This device uses Android 14, which has security systems built in that restrict what a user can do with the device. The devoice cannot read a video game file off of an SD card. So game files have to be moved from card to interal storage before playing. When choosing to "read from tf card" in the retro mode menu it does nothing. Because of the security placed on the android OS. This chip is an older one so running 3DS games is going to be a non option. For DS though it works great.
