Here is my 100% “gods honest” experience and i really do hope this helps people!! Sorry it’s a little long!… I decided to give the 18k evening tide a try in my home! After reading the owners manual it was simple enough to understand how to install it! (I must mention i am a handyman by trade) it took a few hours to read, pull wires, and run some plumbing. I was moving my hot water heater location from the basement to the utility room on the main floor, because otherwise it would not take nearly as long since its basically a plug and play unit!! I did have an issue… & looking back, i know my original unit was faulty out of the box… i had ordered it on cyber monday so honestly i am wondering if it was dropped in the mail… it worked for 2 weeks and crapped out… this is my first experience with tankless & no one i know has used them either… so i didn't know something was wrong initially… when it died i was sad to learn that their customer service line is only open 12-4 est & panicked a little lol…. But i found out you can email them any time and they will typically get back to you outside of that timeframe!!! They are a smaller company & so I totally understand!! Per their request I sent them a couple short videos along with some other information and i was issued a replacement!! Exactly 1 week from making initial contact with the company i had my replacement and swapped the units out. Which took abt 30 mins including cutting breakers off & on in the basement, I honestly could’ve probably coached my 10 year old through doing it!! Immediately i knew the replacement was a good unit and that the original never was!! (It goes to standby mode when the hot water is not running which makes total since!!! If you see an EF code when the water isn’t running it does not mean energy efficient lolol) Anyways, to wrap all of this all up, i am very pleased with this product and company!! I do a lot of home remodeling and honestly i will start putting these in houses that need new water heaters!! Im a single mom of 3 girls & we tend to go through some hot water… lolol this is seriously a game changer in our life!!! Everyone can shower back to back before bed and no one has to get stuck with a potentially cold one lololol its so compact and honestly not bad to look at!! *Just wanted to update* We are 3 months in with the new unit and i am beyond pleased!!! I can run a bath while the shower is running and theres never a shortage of hot water!! The only *flaw* i have found is if you only run the hot water momentarily (im talking seconds) then the unit beeps because there is no water flow to cool the jets which just fired up. Which is not actually a flaw, just how things work! So if you turn on the hot water let it run for at least 30 seconds lol i am in love with this purchase!! ... show more

Our current tank-less water heater needed to be replaced. We could not find the model that we had. We decided to give this water heater a try. The unit did not work as expected and finally quit one day. We gave the company another chance, so we bought another unit. We bought it directly from the Airthereal website. During that process, I was trying to get a replacement for the first unit. I thought Amazon would take care of it, but it turns out I needed to work with Airthereal. I sent an email to their customer support, explained the situation, they sent me a replacement unit free of charge. Laura was amazing in her communications. The only time I asked to speak with her supervisor was to tell them what a great job Laura did. We have replaced the original unit and works as expected. We are pleased with the results of the new unit, and overwhelmingly thrilled with the company and their ownership in our situation.     • I have problems with mine

I purchased 18kw unit 7 months ago. It was working fine for about a month. Then started beeping and displaying E5. It got progressively worst. It would start beeping and displaying E5 randomly even when water is not running like in the middle of the night. Now it beeps and displays E5 and doesn't heat water. I contacted the manufacturer and was told to PDF invoice and take photos of the voltage measured with voltmeter. I did that. I was told that another high powered appliance is interfering and causing the beeping and displaying error code 5. Yes we have a heat pump. We also have a dryer and oven that are on 240 voltage or high powered, we also have solar system. So far I have no resolution from the manufacturer. All and all, if you have a high powered appliance in your home, chances are it is not a good fit for you. The manufacturer responded by sending a new unit. Just installed it today. Seems to be working fine, heating water and not beeping error codes. Hope it works. ... show more

My house is older. Install was easy if you know plumbing. However, the faucet must be turned all the way to the very far edge of hot any tap to the cold side and it is no hot water.

Bought this on sale to replace a dead Bosch Powerstar (expensive new, no current support). Very easy to install, performs much better than the 16kw Bosch. No issue with a hot shower (its in a guest cabin, so just 2 sinks, one shower). Time will tell as to durability. As others have noted, mount it somewhere accessible (closet for me) as if power is interrupted it goes into standby mode when power comes back. You just have to touch the on button, but if it were in a crawlspace that wouldn't be helpful. Unit is briefcase sized, so should be easy to fit anywhere. ... show more
