I rarely write a review and actually it's my first time review on Amazon. I bought this Coway airmega aim for my daughter. She put it on her desk and has been using it about for 2 weeks. I think it's quite decent too. What she likes the most about this air purifier, it has an oscilliating fan.

It’s so close to perfection. Huge hepa filter, beautiful design, small footprint, oscillating, remote control, no unnecessary “smart” features to break AND it automatically manages air quality in auto mode. However, as a fan, it’s lacking. I’m replacing a tower fan with this because I wanted something that filters the air (allergy boy here). The tower fan pushed a lot more air. Setting one is quiet. Two get a little loud, around 50-60 decibels according to my meter. 3 is very loud, mind you, I use this in a bedroom so the space is enclosed. Perfect for me as I sleep with a noise machine so the fan is now a noise machine. But it’s sorely lacking as a fan. Fabulous purifier, even my air quality sensor on my thermostat agrees the air is cleaner, but that’s all. If the fan wasn’t so loud for so little air flow, I’d be more excited to have it. However it’s a little disappointing in terms of it being advertised as a powerful fan. It’s not powerful at all and you can barely feel it’s on. That being said, it’s an excellent filter and air circulator and the fact that it’s a somewhat powerful fan (for a purifier) with a large filter that oscillates, makes it quite effective in a small area like my bedroom. I’m still going to have to get a dedicated fan, but the fan plus this filter is still cheaper than a single Dyson or equivalent hepa equipped fan. Do not expect this to be anything like a dedicated fan. It’s a filter that can direct its air flow. If that’s what you want, go for it! It’s honestly a great filter.

There are so few appealing filter/fans out there. The Blueair is nice but too short. I have a Dyson but don’t want to spend that type of money again. There’s a handful of random brands that offer filter/fans but if the brand name is alphabet soup, I’m skipping it. So, when I saw this unit from Coway, I bought it immediately. The unit seems well built, decent to look at for an appliance, and has a good feature set. The issue I think is simply the fan size. To fit the motor and blade assembly inside the filter housing, they had to pick a small unit. If you need big air movement but use a small fan, you need big RPMs which means big noise. The fan only has 3 speeds and they are 1 (quiet but minimal air) 2 (noisy with decent air movement) and 3 (which is loud with only minimally more air movement than 2). 2 is the only really useful speed for me but is a bit too loud and doesn’t move as much air as I’d want. With a careful redesign this product I think this could easily be 5 stars but for now it’s lacking.

This was easy to set up and is silent as it rotates. The only reason that I didn’t give it five stars is because Amazon doesn’t carry replacement filters for this model. I have to go to the manufacturer’s website to purchase them.

I see why the bottom was taped together- the latching design of the circular plate meant to hold the filter inside is poorly designed- one must turn it clockwise or counter clockwise to latch/or fasten it but it does not turn far + falls off easily- it should be more secure. The plastic also seems a bit cheap or brittle. The entire unit is heavy & cumbersome- it could have used wheels incorporated somehow. Having a pre-filer which I could rinse off was a key selling point for me but this pre-filter is permanently installed under the rim of the circular internal filter and cannot be rinsed without wetting the main filter- there is no way to thoroughly clean the pre-filter (in the Ad, the diagram gives the impression that the pre-filter is entirely separate on the exterior of the main filter so that one could presumably rinse it off- only considered air purifiers, which had a pre-filter). Because of all these points I am returning the Airmega Aim 2-in-1 Oscillating Fan & True HEPA Air Purifierm + will order a Dyson.

The air cleaning quality is great, the fan puts out a lot of air using it in the bedroom for air movement and white noise. Level 2 is perfect, level 3 is a lot of air. The size is something you need to be aware of saw the measurement but they did not give me the perspective of the actual size used a regular size phone for comparison.
