  • This works
Size: SW40 System, 115V, 400' 3/8" EasySet Airline
Combined with some sort of muck control product the end results are pretty good. We are on a cove with little water movement. The combination has improved the area behind our house considerably, should have bought this several years but never pulled the trigger. Bought the SW but wish now had just ponyed up for the PS and have the option for deeper water. But otherwise am very pleased and highly recommend the SW for shallower water areas. The only negative is the price but it works that negates the cost. As for installation it's pretty straight forward and not very difficult. ... show more

  • Not a miracle, but it helps
Size: SW40 System, 115V, 400' 3/8" EasySet Airline
So, I finally broke down and got an aerator for my approximately half-acre sized pond. I have been battling recurrent infestations/outbreaks of algae, duckweed and most recently watermeal since I first moved in. I even had a pond management company treating it for a year, however, nothing seemed to help for more than a short period of time. I got fed up and treated the pond with an aquatic herbicide to kill the watermeal (and, unfortunately, many of the shoreline plants) and then added this aeration system, despite its high price. The pictures above show pre-treatment and about a week after treatment. So far, it seems to be helping, but there is still a lot of crap (and now algae) in the pond and the aerator does not push it all to the shoreline with quite the force I was hoping it would. If you are looking for someone to help you justify the purchase, here is what I’ll tell you. The only reason you are looking at this review is because you have a pond that is experiencing unsightly plant growth or algae blooms and you want it to stop. If you’re like me, the sight of an ugly pond damages your calm. Well, that stagnant water needs circulation and the good bacteria need oxygen to help keep it clean, and that’s what this product does. It’s not an instant fix or magic button, but it adds one of the key ingredients you need for a healthy pond. You need to buy an aerator (or fountain) to keep the water moving, there really isn’t another option. Doesn’t have to be this one, though. Buy what you can afford that fits your application. ... show more

  • Cleared up our pond.
Size: SW40 System, 115V, 400' 3/8" EasySet Airline
We have a shared pond in a neighborhood with a ton of chem lawns and had algae problems for several years. We decided to put an aerator in as a first step, planning to also do enzymes and other treatments. After one year the water improved so much I don’t think we need to do anything further. The only drawback was the cost but if we don’t have to spend money on further treatments it’s worth it. ... show more
