It’s been a long time since I used an airbrush. Back in those days, I needed a chunky $60 artist’s compressor. I used it a little, but then digital art came along and I no longer needed it. Jump forwards a few decades and I’m into table top role playing games which means I make miniatures. I’ve been printing my own and really wanted to paint them. To that end, I got some primer from and this airbrush kit. It comes with cleaning accessories, and three paint holder sizes and some brushes. (If I have a complaints, it’s that the brushes are a bit flimsy but it’s the thought that counts.) I charged it via the included USB C cable. To paint my miniatures I used the primer from the bottle. I tested on my nitril glove and the primer sprayed in a very controllable fashion from 1-2 inches. Mabe half an inch area with ¼ inch falloff. Not a lot of material, but very controllable, fine and even spread. I was quite happy as it makes it a lot easier to take things slow and steady. There’s hardly any mess later to clean up too. I later tried thinner paints, almost like ink and the thinner paint has a much broader area of coverage from further away. With those, cleanup is easy with the miniature paint since you work with such small quantities and even the small metal cup has a twist-on lid to prevent spills and prevent paint drying inside. I would advise cleaning it right after using it. You can simply fill the reservoir with warm water and spray that out. To clean some of the inner workings, put your finger over the tip and let the air blow back bubbling up inside the cup. Use a little alcohol if you want to make things as clean as possible. I am very happy with this kit. It’s affordable, the compressor attached to the brush makes holding it easier, and it is free standing, so you don’t have to perch the airbrush precariously and hope it doesn’t tip over. Bottom line: Great value.

This is not a bad little air brush kit but I do wish it came with adapters to retro-fit it to a hose system to eliminate some of the weight. The airbrush just has a simple single action type trigger, so its not going to measure up to my Paasche, but this should be quite fun to toy around with. I’ll have to see if I can scrounge up some fittings to adapt a hose to between the pump body and the sprayer head. The rechargeable pump makes gives this great portability which makes it perfect for parties and events. Anyone not experienced will need to experiment with different types of paints and vary the viscosity until you get a good combination that works for you. These things are a lot of fun and very versatile as they can be used for cake decorations, hair, makeup, fingernails, face/body painting and a few not so above board uses. Well worth the asking price of $20 at the time of this review.

It's taken me a while to write this review because I'm still playing around with this airbrush kit but I will say so far I love it. I have been using to airbrush makeup and the results have been pretty great. Like I said, I'm still playing around with formulating, mixing and getting the viscosity just right but for an absolute beginner this kit is great. I didn't want to invest in a huge set up and not like the whole airbrush process so this kit has been absolutely wonderful. It contains everything I need for now. It charges in no time and is pretty easy to clean.

For the money, this is an incredible beginner kit! You can learn anything you need to know about airbrushing from this little kit, and then you can decide if you want to spend the big bucks for something bigger and fancier. It was very easy to set up and use. I'm excited about the crafting projects this is going to open up for me, and I'm already practicing with it a bunch. Highly recommended for any beginning airbrush artists!

I just got this airbrush kit in and I am still learning but it works as far as I can tell. Agai. I am a newbie and have nothing to compare this to. For what I got it works pretty well in my opinion. There are so many things you can do with this it’s unreal. From nail art to spray tans you will be able to do all the DIY you want. It’s easy to clean and even though I’ve never done it before it worked as I suspect it would. I’m very happy with it. Plus having the whole portable thing going on is a game changer! No big bulky equipment to tote around.
