The only thing better than the product is the customer service. I've now installed this in my last three homes. I've also referred my mother and brother and they are satisfied with the product as well. Installation is easy, takes under an hour.     • Solid build and good value
Solid build and fairly easy to install with the included hardware/tools. Make sure to use the provided template; it makes drilling the pilot holes for the screws and hole for the bulb in the right location on the first try. 30 watt power draw with thick gauged power cord.

    • Customer service sucks.
Bought one as a replacement for the original I bought in 2006. Unit lasted 5 months. Bulb burnt out. Bought new bulb from air health website. It would not work, so the transformer is bad (wire insulation came loose at transformer). Contacted customer service, and was told they’d send a shipping label, to send the bad unit back (10 year warranty). Never received. Emailed them again, and, again they said they’d send a shipping label to return defective unit, and send a new one upon receipt. This was on 2/28. It is now 4/4 still nothing. Customer service sucks. I’ll buy another brand, and guess I’ll just eat the $189 cost of the unit. ... show more

    • BEWARE of "Compatible" UV-C bulbs (5W or 9W instead of 30W)
We had 2 of an earlier version of these Air+Health UV-C lamp units in our residential HVAC system since ~2002, their ballasts both finally died, fortunately the new ballast bases are backwards-compatible. The OEM bulbs (#46444900, EPA #59662-NC-1) are nominally rated to last 16.5 months (24,000hrs), and are a relatively powerful 30W, providing a specified intensity of 62 μW/cm²@1m / 7874 μW/cm²@1in / 21,948 μW/cm²@0in. It's best to mount these lights just "downstream" from the HVAC chiller (on the supply air side) to help keep the coils pathogen-free; also note that some HVAC air filters (on the return air side) can be damaged by exposure to intense UV-C light. There are other "compatible" 4-pin UV-C bulbs available that are only 5W or 9W and work poorly or not at all with these 30W Air+Health ballast bases, buyer beware (their lower prices are "too good to be true"). Effectiveness of killing airborne pathogens is directly proportional to their cumulative UV-C exposure, less powerful bulbs might cost less, but they are much less effective. Leaving your HVAC system on "Circulate" with a low fan speed increases UV-C exposure of airborne pathogens, increasing lamp effectiveness. ... show more

After using these ( one in each unit) for 12 years no breathing problems, cleanair, HVAC duct cleaner people told me the ducts and coil were the cleanest they had ever seen. But I was talked into installing an LED peroxide generator instead. Latest and greatest. 2 years later, gobs of mold and filth and they charged me 2k for another duct clean. Bought this, fit right into original socket ( the old ballast was dead ). Fired right up, reassured by blue glow thru peephole, already less post nasal drip. When the HVAC folks approach me for the 5 year change on the led unit will tell them to pound sand. ... show more
