I usually don’t write reviews. When and if I do, it’s because an item is really good or really bad. For this review, these speakers are terrible. For $249.99, definitely not worth it. As I’m writing this review, it’s listed for $200, but even then, not worth it. I’m no audiophile, but I can tell great sound, to good sound, to decent sound, no poor sound...in the case did the Air Audio, the sound was like air, hence the name “Air Audio.” Bass was pretty much non existent. Treble seemed terribly high and unnatural. Given that the speakers detach and can be used as a 5 speaker setup, you would think the sound would be filling, especially if placed really close to you. I wasn’t even 3 feet away from the speakers, and it still sounded weak. I’m not usually harsh with my reviews, but I was very disappointed with the sound quality given then innovative design and quality packaging. Before deciding to buy it, I had looked at some reviews and it had good decent reviews. But I’m hoping you’ll take my review because I really felt I was ripped off given the premium price did not match the build quality and sound quality of a real premium speaker. I was so excited to try the speakers and really had high hopes, but it just sucks. I’m sorry, but for $200 or $249, you can get a much better sounding and better quality speaker. I have 2 UE Megaboom and 2 UE Boom 3 and 1 UE Wonderboom. As you tell, I’m a big fan of UE cause they just work and are appropriately priced. As I’m writing this review, the UE Wonderboom is priced at $92.80. At more than half the price as the Air Audio, the UE Wonderboom is better sounding than the Air Audio and I believe the overall quality is better. My overall take of the Air Audio, cheaply made and cheap sound. Not worth the premium price. At $200/$249, you might as well get the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 4 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, which is currently priced at $199. Much better sounding and quality speaker. Sure, it may not be able to detach or have that innovative design, but the design is still elegant. I wouldn’t even spend more than $50 for this speaker. If you’re going to spend around $50, you might as well get the Sony SRS-XB13, currently priced at $58. My initial point - Yes innovative design, but poor execution in sound. It was so bad that I decided to return it after testing it out for 10 minutes. My final point - there are many better premium speakers out there that you can get within the same price point of the Audio Airs. Save yourself the headache in returning and disappoint - get yourself the UE Boom 3 or a Harman Kardon ... show more

    • Be gentle with the rubber seals between segments!

I've had this speaker for several months now. The surround sound is great, and this thing gets as loud as you really ever would need. The speakers are held together by magnets, and will only stack together if they are in the correct order. They can also stick to some metal surfaces. The sound quality is five-star. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Charging is somewhat problematic, especially if you damage any of the rubber seals that separate the segments. One of my seals broke off in the first week that I owned this, and now charging them as a stack often only works for half of the set-up. The only ways to get a consistent good charge now are to use 5 different cables or charge each segment individually. Sometimes, especially when powering segments up individually, there will be sync issues and the speakers will have an extreme echoing effect. Stacking them and using the main power button for all segments at once seems to fix this, but the main power button doesn't always "wake up" all of them. Gently pressing them together while you hold power on and off solves this most of the time. Battery life is good when stacked. When a segment has a low charge, it will beep, then shortly turn off. Sadly, the small segments don't have a very long battery life. If you're planning the use this as a multi-speaker for a room, you should definitely be ready to gather up all the pieces for charging and/or syncing every day ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Was a little apprehensive about purchasing cause it’s such a relatively new product and there were no reviews really but I can say I was pleasantly surprised. Shipping was really quick it, got here like 3-4 days after I ordered. And sound quality was better than I expected. The magic comes with taking it apart and setting it up surround sound style in your room. It’s really cool to be surrounded by your music or movies from a single speaker. Will most likely buy another unit (which you can sync to each other). ... show more

I bought this product in 2021. It worked great for a while, but several months in, one of the speakers started to not charge and eventually it stopped working altogether. I ordered the same speakers, because their size and sound quality are exactly what I need; I bought them in July, and now in November one of the speakers isn't working already. I need the 5, which was another appeal to this brand, but this is now over $400 I've spent on these speakers and the exact same issue has occurred twice. Can someone please contact me? ... show more
