I have the older model Aiper Seagull as well. I was pleased with that model for it's price point and effectiveness especially at getting small particles (like sand) off the floor of the pool. This unit is in a lot fof ways better. Improvements - Bigger debris bucket allows it to pick up more - No trickiness in putting it back together the right way. Seagull has a protrusion that has to be lined up with the bottom to fit correctly and has to be pressed down before snapping on. This one goes in simple and snaps on - Really cleans an area well (not a lot of misses). - Cleans the pump drain at the bottom of debris everytime. Areas that are a little weaker than the Seagull - Neither is rated for a pool with any incline on the bottom. But the Seagull could climb a little. This one really spends most its time in the well. Again not expected to be a feature of either model. - A little confusing that the charge status light is on the charger and not the robot like the Seagull. There is even a slit on the top that looks like the old Seagull charge progress light but it is not that. Overall, I am very happy with it and still use both on a rotation (I get a lot of leaves and other debris in my pool - so they stay busy). ... show more

This great little vacuum is a powerful cleaning machine! Just plug it in on the bottom, flip it over and let it quickly charge its battery. (Even cheap to charge for me since I have solar electric!) Then snap on its filter and the wheels, push the power button and drop it in the pool! It zips around, picking up leaves, dead bugs, even sand, whatever has fallen into your pool. It automatically senses a wall and turns in another direction, much like a roomba, eventually covering the entire pool floor. It parks itself at the walls so you do not have to climb in to get it out. It comes with hooks to put on your pool pole so you don’t even get wet. I only need to use it once a week, but you can do it daily; it only takes a short time to recharge. The company also stands behind the product with excellent customer service and support. I have a 20’ round above ground pool. This pool vacuum works easily with no cords. It is very similar to a rechargeable robot house vacuum. It’s excellent at maintaining a clean pool bottom, picking up the small debris. It is easy to use, empty, clean and charge, you just rinse the inside of the machine with a garden hose. I use this pool vacuum everyday to maintain my pool. I purchased the Seagull SE after a friend raved about theirs. I have used this product for a full pool season in the Midwest (6 months). This compact robotic pool cleaner came packaged well, complete and only required minimal assembly. The charging brick has a light which lights up red indicating charging needed and then turns green when fully charged. It took about 2 hours to fully charge. The top comes off after releasing two side latches and the filter screen is easy to remove and clean. It comes with a hook to pull the Scuba SE from the pool and it has a flap on the top side opposite the hook handle to allow rapid draining. The media could not be loaded. First of all, the robot looks very cute, black with a little light blue, you can easily see it working in the pool. After opening the box, I couldn't wait to see it in action. The first thing that struck me when I charged it up and put it in the pool was how quiet it was. Before we put it in the pool, we could hear a little bit. But when it's in the water, there's no sound at all. The robot is free to move forward and backward in the pool with the help of different water flows in and out of the device. The path of the robot is random, but it can still cover a large area. The robot filters impurities from the pool by drawing water from the bottom, it can be intuitively found that the equipment has cleared a lot of sand and some small bugs. It was advertised that the battery life is 90 minutes, but in fact, it worked for more than 100 minutes, which made me very surprised! Of course, in the use of the process also found some small problems, this device is not good at climbing, if your pool has a very steep slope, this device may not be suitable. You get what you pay for. There's a reason this vacuum is hundreds less than the others. I've used it and charged it a total of ten times, and it still won't pick everything up. Sure, it picks some up, but it won't get it all. Also, when I get it out of the pool, some of the debris that it did manage to suck up, it comes out with the water that's draining. In my pool does not pick up 100% of dirt … covers most of it but leaves certain areas that I still need to vacuum manually … I guess good the price and reduces some time with manual cleaning but not what I expected
