  • Does exactly what I needed it to
Style: 2 IN 1 OUT USB 2.0 (NO EDID)
I needed a switch to swap my USB mouse and keyboard between two computers with a minimum of fuss, no beeping, and with a keyboard shortcut key for the switch. This accomplishes that goal quite well, and I'm glad that I bought it. The switch appears to present itself to both machines as a mouse and keyboard, and then mirrors your inputs to the switched machine. As a result, the switch delay is extremely minimal (less than a second), and the computers don't register a USB connect/disconnect event when you switch. It's a bit weird that the switch itself uses USB-B connectors, but it came with USB-A to USB-B cables, so it didn't end up being a problem. If the computers you're switching between are distant, make sure that the included cables are long enough, that you have an extension, or that you have a long enough A-to-B cable. I did not need to switch video, so I can't comment on the quality of that feature. ... show more

  • Inexpensive but not long lasting
Style: 2 IN 1 OUT USB 2.0 (NO EDID)
This was an inexpensive solution that I needed in order to use the same monitor, keyboard and mouse with 2 different desktops. The switch has a button that with both PC's on, allows you to switch from one PC to the other to see the display each is showing. Quite handy. HOWEVER, I bought my first one in April of 2022 and it stopped working in Feb of 2023 so I had to purchase another one to replace it. When I say it stopped working, I mean that my main desktop started to display an error message while booting up that stated that a keyboard was not being detected. As a result, my keyboard stopped working while plugged in to this switch so a new switch was needed. ... show more

  • Good KVM Switcher but with an annoying feature
Style: 2 IN 1 OUT USB 2.0 (NO EDID)
This is a great KVM switcher that can connect between two computers and switch between each other with same one mouse, keyboard, and a monitor. The switch between two computers can be button press on the box unit itself or hotkeys such as "CTRL+CTRL+1", "CTRL+CTRL+2", "SL+SL+1", or "SL+SL+2". The only annoying downside is if you need to use the ctrl key and if you hit it two times, it will trigger the hokey switch and mess up your CTRL key usage such as if you're using it select multiple things or playing video games. According to the manufactures, it cannot be turned off or changed so you're stuck with it. The only workaround is to avoid click ctrl key is to press the ctrl key three times instead of the two. If you don't mind the ctrl key issue, then I would recommend this economically priced KVM switcher if you need to switch between two computers using same peripherals. ... show more

I liked the product so i went ahead and bought another one but the warrenty is missleading and should be buy as is. Thanks TW ... show more

  • UPDATE: Changing from 2 star to 4 star. Works, problem seems to be due to super old machine.
Style: 2 IN 1 OUT USB 2.0 (NO EDID)
UPDATE: O.K. so it looks like the issue of the mouse, is not really the switch but the PC itself. And Also found a sort-of workaround for the issue itself. So what I'm using this for my test machines, 1 is a newer computer that I'm running Linux server so I don't need a mouse; the other an older Core 2 Duo Dell that is running Linux workstation. The workstation is what needed the mouse and also the machine that I would shutdown when I wasn't using it. To get to the point, I've had to swap out the workstation to work on a much newer Windows PC and the mouse is now being detected and working just fine on boot. So the issue isn't with the switch or at least not purely with the switch. I suspect it could be a combination of that I'm running Linux on a super old computer (the mouse is an old MS red laser mouse too) Also, I had switched to using Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo (I switch back to wired to test the issue) that was lying around and that solved the issue of need to unplug/replug. It's been 2 weeks since I got the switch, everything still working but I don't really switch to number 2. Overall pretty satisfied for now. Still a little worried about that rattle... Below is what my original review: Sort of works. There is a huge rattle in the box. Product came with the packaging undamaged but... Whenever I boot up, the system stops detecting the mouse. I have to unplug and plug the mouse back in to use the mouse. Only for the mouse, not the keyboard. Not a big deal but doesn't really work as it should but it's usable. I think it wouldn't be an issue if the mouse and keyboard were on separate cables but having 1 usb from the switch to the CPU made sense, if it worked perfectly. Included USB a to b cable aren't very long. I needed to use a usb extension cable to the CPU. ... show more

  • Very good KVM, but I needed extra hardware.
Style: 2 IN 1 OUT USB 2.0 (NO EDID)
So first off the design is very good. The HDMI does what it's supposed to do. I think it's a hotplug so when switching between devices it physically disconnects the hdmi. The keyboard and mouse stay in a pseudo state so it accept hot keys. Very nice design. Now the problem is I am running 2 computers with this KVM switch so essentially 1 will always be "headless". When that computer is headless I am unable to VNC into it. This is because software in the computer is disabling the video card when there is no monitor attached. This I believe is some sort of power saving feature that I do not want. I bought a "Dummy plug" to get around this. My "dummy plug" is actually a DP dummy plug, this is because my video card has 1 HDMI port and 2 DP ports, 1 HDMI port is attached to the KVM, and 1 DP "dummy plug" is attached to a DP port. In Windows I now set it to "Clone displays", now the kvm works great and I can VNC into my computer no matter the settings. Hopefully this will help others in a similar setup. It was not immediately obvious to me how to fix it. ... show more
