    • Rugged, Waterproof Case for iPad Mini (A17 Pro) – Almost Perfect for Real-World Use
My iPad Mini is my daily workhorse and it lives a pretty rough life, so I need serious protection. I recently upgraded to the A17 Pro model, which meant my old case no longer lined up with the new button placement. That led me to this one. Installation took about 90 seconds. I scanned the instructions, saw nothing surprising, and was done almost immediately. Must-have features I was looking for: • shock/drop protection • water resistance • no fogging when moving between humid and dry environments • full access to the fingerprint button Nice-to-have features: • actually waterproof (not just resistant) • good grip (the naked A17 Pro Mini is slippery as an eel) • strap attachment points • secure Apple Pencil holder • beefy kickstand This case delivers on every single must-have and almost all of the nice-to-haves. The only miss is the kickstand — it has a small adhesive one, but I’m not even going to try it. I’ve carried a foldable pocket-sized stand (I own three in two sizes) for years and I’ll keep doing that. Where it exceeded expectations: • The in-hand feel is excellent — perfect texture and weight. • It is genuinely waterproof. It’ll handle rain without issue, and while I’m not going swimming with it, the listing claims it can, and I believe them. • The Pencil holder is so secure that I now actually carry my (cheap knock-off) Pencil all the time instead of leaving it at home. • It came with a strap included. • Fingerprint button access is flawless. • Unlike my previous case, the back is clear. I can now slide in NASA “meatball” stickers, morale patches, or whatever else to personalize it. Downsides / things to know: • There is no cutout or acoustic channel for the new left-side speakers on the A17 Pro model. That said, I only noticed they were covered at all because I looked — sound still seems fine in normal use. (My previous iPad didn’t have those extra speakers anyway.) • Like every waterproof case I’ve used, the built-in screen protector is plastic film, not glass. It will collect scratches and micro-abrasions from typing and normal use over time. I expect I’ll need to replace the whole case in roughly a year. Then again, I’m not the type to obsess over it. • Personal layout preference: I would have put the strap anchors at the top (near the Pencil holder) and moved the Pencil holder to the bottom (where the strap anchors currently are). Also, if I were redesigning the iPad Mini, why put the charging port in a landscape-friendly spot but assume portrait orientation for the buttons? … but that’s on Apple, not the case. Bottom line: This is easily the best real-world iPad Mini case I’ve used since the LifeProof cases went away — especially if you actually need water protection, good grip, and Pencil security. ... show more

I bought this because I love to be at the pool, sitting on my float and reading. Just make sure you get the right case for your iPad. Make sure it is properly sealed and do the water test Before you use your iPad. I’ve had no problems with sound or touch. Love the neck strap but i found the stand to be completely useless ... show more

I wanted a durable cover for my iPad so I could read while taking a bath. No issues with water, it’s even be dropped, and so far it’s kept my iPad safe. The only down side is the front cover doesn’t lay completely flat, so there are some place where you need a little extra pressure for the screen to recognize your movements. ... show more

I bought a $68 Otterbox and it broke within a few days. (My daughter has autism and is very destructive.) Bought this about a week ago and its soooo much more sturdy and its cheaper!! Definitely worth it. My favorite part is the charger port “flap” is magnetic so it stays on and stays shut. 10/10 so far. If you have a neurodivergent kid this is the one for you.😂 ... show more
