Our next-door neighbor is a senior citizen who lives alone. We frequently find ourselves aiding him and even providing food so he does not go hungry or injure himself when cooking because he has difficulties walking and getting up. It concerns me because I am not always present when he has to get in and out of bed, so I purchased this rail for him in the hopes that it will make things easier. This bedside rail is specifically designed to help the elderly transfer in and out of bed. It's easy to position on the bed and comes with a built-in motion light and storage pocket for added convenience. Its height and length are adjustable to fit any bed, and it comes with a slip-resistant mat to keep it in place. This rail is performing admirably. He can get out of bed by pulling himself up. Of course, he is elderly, so he still has some work to do, but he has something to hold onto, so he is less concerned about falling. The rail is about eight inches above the mattress, which is the ideal height for him.

I got this for my 93-year old father. Installation is easy, the railing itself is good, solid and stable. But the motion light is different story. It is a joke. I had it charged almost 3 days now, the indicator light is still red. I wonder when it is going to turn green to indicate the charge is completed. I am not sure what to say. Maybe replace the light? I did charge it with my cell phone charger as the instruction menu says. It does not even come with one. I had to find one for the charging cable. Any suggestion about how long I should leave it charing? The menu says charging should be done 3-5 hours but mine is almost 3 days now. Could be the light is malfunction? I am not sure what to do right now. I would rate this product 5 star if there is no light charging problem.

Product used to assist my being safe in bed, i.e. helps not to roll out of bed when near the edge. Auto light included assists greatly. Instructions for assembly could be better. Poor workmanship on one rail segment needed to be compensated for by slightly reshaping the piece involved.
