  • Beyond nice
Style: Dump Cart
I read all the reviews before springing for this trailer. I wound up getting the 750 pound capacity model, mainly because of the larger bed size. After assembling it, here's the bad and the good: Bad: I was missing a corner brace but had an extra foot pedal. Not so bad, though; I called the number on the instructions and spoke to a very nice lady who knew what I was calling about almost immediately and is shipping me another corner bracket. Turns out it was a known mistake that was made in packaging; an employee didn't know the difference between a foot pedal and a corner bracket. It is still usable until then, although that corner will need a little consideration. The corner brackets strengthen those corners immensely. Bad: I hate those Nylok nuts! On the other hand, it shouldn't be shaking itself apart during use. Bad: The nuts for the foot pedal appear they will need adjustment at some future date. Maybe a threaded bushing made into the foot pedal rather than just sandwiching it between two nuts? Just a suggestion. Kinda bad: Beware tightening bolts too soon. You might need to make a minor adjustment for a future step. Not unexpected though. There's a lot of parts to assemble. Neutral: The box came in almost pristine condition, but there were a few minor bends along the edges of some of the sheet metal. That's actually to be expected from sheet metal. The weight is where it needs to be, in the bracing and frame parts. I didn't have to straighten anything because the bolts pulled the sheet metal into alignment. As it is, the box weighs 101 pounds, so I'm actually glad it isn't heavier than it is since I am disabled. Neutral: There are some extra holes in some of the pieces. That's just a side effect of using as few different pieces as possible to keep the cost down. In my case, I consider this a good thing. I can make brackets to fit on the sides for straps. Good: a couple of extra nuts were included. Also, the hardware is standard size so it can be replaced quickly and easily if need be. I twisted one bolt in two, so I just have to run down and pick up a standard 1/4-20 x 5/8" bolt. No problem. Good: The instructions were great. They had both a fold-out with both written and pictorial instructions and a booklet with the pictorials and a full exploded view. I saw nothing missing in the instructions. They also identified the hardware on both with a full-size pictorial list. Good: All sheet metal is flimsy. Period. But the bracing is made out of sterner stuff, and combined it makes for a very sturdy trailer. Now, can I push it with my foot and watch it deflect? Yes. But this is also not a 53' semi-trailer designed for 25 tons. For what it is, I consider it very sturdy. Good: The coating looks to be pretty rugged. There's a few minor dings now from me assembling it, but the coating has held just fine. It also looks like the coating is applied after the machining, so it is solid. Good: The tires... what is with these bad reviews on the tires? They look perfect to me. Good tread, but if you're going to pull it on asphalt you might see them wear quickly. These are off-road tires such similar to what a tractor might have. They're designed to travel across dirt and grass, not asphalt. They are also pneumatic... that means they will go flat if you drive across long, sharp things with a load. Use some common sense! Great: Solid steel axle, with four support points. Great: If there's an issue, their customer service treated me professionally, courteously, and were very friendly. Things happen, but as long as the company is willing to stand behind its products, I consider that a non-issue. Oh, and they speak English! Not broken English with an accent... real American English! Great: For what you get, the price is simply amazing. I have a solid metal lawn trailer now for the same price (or maybe less) than the plastic ones the brick and mortar stores here sell. With a little minor care, it should last for a very long time. Great: That is a pretty hefty spring on the foot pedal. It would be hard to pull it into place, but Agri-Fab includes a spring puller that turns it into a snap! Great: It came two days earlier than expected. Thank you Amazon! ---------------------------------------- Tips: Use a ratchet and socket where possible. You'll need a wrench for the 9/16" bolt, since a socket won't fit. The 7/16" and 1/2" nuts work better with a ratchet. The hitch plate looks like it's symmetrical. It isn't. Just look at the hole spacing before you start putting in bolts or the second one won't have a hole! Unless you have octopus arms, have someone there to help out, especially when putting the axle frame and latch onto the bed. Make sure everything is flush, especially early on. The sheet metal is the first to be assembled and it is both flimsy until braced and bulky to work with. It's easy to get it off flush. Separate out the hardware before you start. The instructions have a full-size drawing of all of the bolts and nuts. Use it. ------------------------------------------------------ All in all, this is a 5-star rating and well deserved. In the future I will consider a product being made by Agri-Fab to be an automatic plus. ------------------------------------------------------ Update: The corner brace came in quickly as promised. I also got a chance to put it through its paces. Expect it to rattle a lot while pulling it, especially when you drive over small roots or the occasional small branch in the yard. Other than the rattle, though, the cart performed very well. It handled some of the rougher terrain I am willing to put it through without any problem whatsoever (I had an old mattress I can't burn so I had to temporarily stash it out of sight until I can make a trip to the dump). If it did well during that trip, it should be exceptional for everything else. I would not recommend it for very rough terrain. It's just not intended for that. But around a yard that is capable of being mowed? Exceptionally capable and at a good price. I couldn't be happier. ... show more

  • Very good product, but not perfect dammit! I want perfect!
Style: Dump Cart
I have owned and like Agri-Fab yard equipment in general and this cart is no exception but it is not perfect. The cart was easy enough to assemble but as with most of this equipment assembly feel there is not enough washers and the hardware should be stainless so I feel better using some cheap stainless flat washers to assemble with to reinforce and protect the sheet metal. They are not necessary but make it more-better, yes sir. I'm too cheap to replace the zink bolts with stainless though. If you use the metric washers you get on amazon, they fit tight, you might need to use a chain saw blade file on them to fit the US bolts, but they are way less expensive. I hauled about 500# of 6' logs per load about 100 yards on rough terrain with no problem with wheel clearance, mechanical failures or moving issues. It does need the end gate to have top bracket welded to it to hold the top of the sides together as they tend to pull apart making the end gate fall out. Agri-Fab, did you not test this with actual material in the back? I still give it 4 stars but hey guys, so close to perfect, let's fix the gate and get the 5!!! ... show more

  • Pretty nice cart...
Style: Dump Cart
[UPDATE 6-15-2021] I've used this quite a bit and for the most part it's been a great cart. From bags of pellets, firewood, dirt, leaves, branches and more. But sadly seems like the tires are starting to lose air. One side I've had to air up a few times now. Not just a few pounds under, but it's been almost flat. Hope they do not get worst. Sadly, minus one star for tires. [/UPDATE] Bought this because I am sick and tired of dealing with used trailers. Every single time at least one of the tires goes flat and they are usually too cracked and weather checked to fix. So instead of I thought I'd rather throw money at a new cart. Also bought this model for the rated capacity. I don't haul heavy stuff much, but nice to know I can. Assembly wasn't too back actually. Took me about 3 hours by myself, taking my time. Nothing too difficult. Although it was a challenge to add the wheel assembly section by myself. So get some one to help you, it will go easier. Instructions where pretty good and not too many different sized bolts. Both tires were kind of low, had to air them up. Not a big deal, just hope it doesn't mean they leak. Will update this if that is the case. Some one mentioned they didn't like that the bed was in 2 pieces. Well, don't know how they would ship it in one piece and one piece would make it more fun to put together. I am glad it came in two pieces. The cart itself seems quite sturdy. There are a few extra pieces to add some strength. Sure thicker steel than the last couple carts I've had. I put it together last night and put it to the test today. Hauled the last pallet of wood pellets from the garage, around the house to the back slider to put them in the basement. One trip I put 15 bags in the trailer, at 40lbs each that makes for 600LBS. The cart handled it with no problem. Didn't even really notice it squatting down. Worked great. Made for less trips. So far I am really happy with this cart. Only thing I can say, I wish the tires set back a little further. For the price and quality, I would recommend. ... show more

  • Very stable.
Style: Dump Cart
Surprise how much of a load it carries. Used for chopped wood and yard waste.
