  • Smartly Designed for Versatility and Durability
Size: 7-Cubic Feet Style: No-Flat
Assembly was relatively quick and easy and all parts lined up as they should. Frame and hardware are high quality. We quickly put ours to work moving mulch, soil, masonry/bricks, and will be hauling logs next. Here are some other observations: High Mobility—The cart, even when loaded down rolls easily w/free-spinning wheels and large flat-free tires that handle even the most difficult terrain, e.g., bumpy surfaces, gravel, and even very loose soil/sand. I’ve had pneumatic tires and would not choose that option, as they frequently lose pressure and do not roll as easily when loaded down, requiring more effort to pull and maneuver. Serious Hauling—The polyethylene (PE) bed/bucket, while relatively lightweight can handle a Lot of weight, and w/high sides, quite a bit of material. Easy Dumping—The dumping mechanism is smartly designed to allow it to go well past vertical (almost 180 deg, if necessary) to allow everything in it to fully empty. Would be even better if the bucket turned for side dumping also (JD sells one for their lawn mowers/tractors, but more expensive and no handle for manual use). Turns on a Dime—The cart has a zero-turn-type radius, allowing it to make hard turns easily. Versatile—I would prefer to have paid less, but the cart is more versatile and, in many cases, cheaper than carts specifically designed for pulling behind a lawn tractor. Most are not designed for manual handling—no handle, and many with only 2 wheels (vs. 4). This cart’s handle removes so it can be attached to most lawn mowers/tractors, ATVs, etc. The handle’s pin and nifty locking clip are also designed to secure the cart to most receivers, so no additional accessories are required for most hook-ups. TIPS: 1. This cart is middle-sized. If you’re on the fence between this model (7 cubic feet/1200 lb capacity) and the one w/smaller bed/bucket (4 cf/600 lb capacity), I would go w/this one. Check the attached photos for a frame of reference. Inevitably, a project will come along where you wish you had more surface area and more volume/capacity. A beefier, heavier, and pricier 10 cf cart is also available, but I believe it’s only sold w/pneumatic tires. 2. Easy rolling can make slopes more of a challenge as the cart will want to take off on its own if not parked correctly (no brake). And taking a load down a relatively steep slope can be difficult to control as it wants to go faster than you do. In these situations, you may want to reverse position and allow the cart to go down ahead of you, so your weight can function as a brake and you can better control the cart. 3. You have to physically lift the front of the bucket to unload it. For heavier loads consider distributing more of the weight towards the back end. This makes lifting easier, and more weight in back provides a gravity assist in dumping the load. Your arm, shoulder, and back will thank you. 4. While ruggedly built and durable, it’s not indestructible. When not in use, consider storing it in a shed or under some kind of cover. If you’re limited on space, you can also utilize the empty bucket to store things like bags of fertilizer, seed, mulch, soil, rock, salt, gardening supplies/tools, etc. ... show more

  • When They Say GORILLA TOUGH, They mean it!
Size: 4-Cubic Feet Style: No-Flat
My husband just purchased this cart, and he couldn't wait to put it together. He volunteers on the landscape committee in our association, and all of our condo units have many trees and bushes. He does a lot of trimming, pruning and cutting down branches, and was using an ancient, rickety wagon to haul away all of the refuse. He was tired of messing with the wonky wheels and flimsy housing on the old wagon and started doing serious research to find a quality, indestructible, hard-wearing replacement. After hours of searching and reading reviews, he felt confident that buying this name brand cart was the right choice. AND IT WAS. He decided to pay the extra (about $40) to get the solid, no-flat (non-pneumatic) tires, and he was amazed at how firm and strong these tires are. The other thing he likes about this model of Gorilla cart is the ease at which you can grab ahold of the handle to put the body of the cart in full dump position. That wonderful feature saves wear and tear on the back. He also likes how easily it is to turn and maneuver this cart over all the hills and valleys around all the condos, and how easy it is to clean it up after use (you can just hose it down). Since he bought the Gorilla Heavy-Dury Dump Cart, he's said (ad nauseum), "this is one of the best buys I've ever made"! I agree with him. ... show more

  • Seems heavy duty, it is well thought out. Saved me a LOT of work! It is a BEAST!
Size: 7-Cubic Feet Style: No-Flat
I have been planning and doing some work around the house including pavers and wood fencing. These are some heavy items, so I bought a cart to help me move them. I could have gotten the smaller version with air up ties for less $$, but wanted the stake pockets for moving lumber. I also find with my pressure washer and air compressor that the tires need air literally any time I go to use them. For pavers, I emptied a flower bed and hauled away several heavy loads of dirt/plants. It pulled easily and dumped easily. I also moved crushed limestone, sand, and the pavers it it. It worked well and makes for a surprisingly good wheelbarrow. For fencing, I stacked new pressure treated fencing material on it and would pull it to the area where I was working. I was putting up a few hundred linear feet of fencing, and as I worked, I got increasingly father from where my lumber was dropped. This cart hauled all the lumber like a champ. At dark, I would load all of my tools and small air compressor into it and roll it into the garage. Each day, I would roll it back out and get right back to work quickly. That was very convenient. Most impressive moment: I had about 15-20 old HEAVY 8' pressure treated 4X4 posts in a stack that I offered for free on marketplace. The guy who picked them up helped me load the 4X4's onto the Gorilla cart. I walked away briefly to get a hammer, and when I returned I found that he had stacked them all onto the cart (I had planned to do it in 2 trips). I am serious when I say that this was a impressively tall and heavy load for a plastic wagon! I strapped the lumber down with adjustable bungie cords and we pulled it a few hundred feet to the road where his truck was parked. The cart didn't seem bothered at all. It worked like a champ! This thing is a beast! Some assembly notes: It assembles easily. I happened to have some 1.25" stainless fender washers on-hand so I used them to attach the dump handle to the bed to give it more strength/support. This freed up 4 washers that Gorilla had provided for this area. I used these on the dump pivot (assembly Step 2) where Gorilla only provided one washer instead of two. The instructions show to use a washer on the side with the nut, but not on the side with the bolt head. I did not like the idea of the bolt head rubbing the powder coat off of the frame. Also, make sure when the cart is assembled and turned right-side-up that the wheel retainer snap ring is dropped in from the top. It would be easy to insert it upside down where it could potentially fall out later. ... show more
