I can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase. This buck saw is so easy to fold into a small and light package, is strong, and the craftsmanship outstanding. Sure it costs $110, but you get the extra blade and a very nice carry case with this incredible saw. It is well worth the expense. You can take this saw on any camping trip, even kayaking and backpacking because it is so light and compact. If anyone is looking for the perfect tool for cutting up camp fire fuel, this is it! Update 2-20-22: I needed to shorten a large piece of black oak to be able to get it into my wood stove, so instead of taking the time to break out the chain saw I took the opportunity instead to use this hand saw with the more aggressive blade. It took me less than two minutes to make a straight six inch thick cut through this hard, dry, and tough wood. In the end it saved me a significant amount of time. So glad I made this purchase!

It’s heavy for backpacking. But car camping, base camp, bush survival it’s a must have. Cuts dry 5 inch red oak like butter. Literally under 5 minutes. 2-3 inch green wood under 3 minutes. Saw blade cleans up easy, no gummy sap buildup. I’ve used it 5 times. Once for a big fire. Once to cut path on old logging road. Comes with extra blade & hinge pinch nut. Which was a really nice surprise. Sheathe is nice & heavy duty corduroy. Holds extra blade & pinch nut. It’s awesome & easy to see why it’s one of highest rated saws out there. It’s a bow saw with Silky saws type thought & performance. Stows away to protect blade. I love it.

I have wanted one of these saws for years but never could force myself to pull the trigger on it because it is pretty expensive by my standards. That, and I was tossed up between this and a traditional handmade bow saw. Either way, the purchase price would be high. I have no regrets. This saw is awesome, packed down in a nice tight narrow kit. I opted for the case as well and am very thankful I did. I am taking this saw bikepacking and wanted the peace of mind that it would not damage other pieces of gear in my panniers. The carry case is very nice, is heavy-weight material, and should last for years. I have both the green wood blade and the dry wood blade. There is a spare blade compartment in the case. It also comes with two extra "C" clips that were shrink-wrapped onto the info card so be careful not to throw the card away without cutting the "C" clips off of the card. I simply cut the clips from the card....leaving them still attached to the card...cutting it about the size of a calling card and placing it deep into the blade compartment. Yea, I am thrilled with my saw.

I've tried a variety of hand saws (as well as a few powered chain saws) for clearing trails of fallen trees. This one is well made and folds up into a compact unit that can be carried easily (esp. with the nice carrying case). It also cuts well. However, I don't like it as much as some of my folding pull saws, especially the Silky Big Boy, which both cuts faster and folds to a smaller size (shorter length) that fits completely into my mountain biking backpack (Osprey Raptor)--the Boreal21 is longer and sticks out of the pack. I also prefer the thicker blade of the pull saw, which makes it easier to make a straight cut. These comments are based on the standard blade; I haven't tried the more aggressive blade on the Boreal21 yet.

The agawa canyon boreal 21 saw tripper kit with cordura case and sydney rancher 2 agressive blade is perfect for it's intended purpose. Very light weight easy to pack, very sturdy in the hand, cuts as good as any hand saw can! Extremely high quality build and very ergonomic in operation! However there is one small CON. I contacted agawa canyon and asked if they could provide someone to cut the wood for me and they said that they are still working on that one and as soon as they can they will provide that service for a small fee. All jokes aside if you read any cons to the saw it is by people who expect a company to circumvent the laws of physics or by someone who has no technique or clue as to how to use a hand saw of any persuasion. I think it is a wonderful tool and I whole heartedly recommend it without reservation. That is my story and I am sticking to it! Happy trails. Signed, Hatchet Face
