  • Its plug in play
Its extremely simple. Pretty much plug in play. I dont like how there is no housing or stronger support for the GPU but it's so fast to replace gpus for testing. It works for the 30 series of nvidia gpus all way down to tesla m10s-k80s gpus ( just from the gpus I have 3080 dell 3050 6gb , Tesla m40, M12 k80 ,quadro p2000 k620 , GTX titan Z 1080ti and arc a310) Make sure to start the egpu first when using occulink. Then your pc. For usb 4 connection do the same. Start the egpu first then pc. You can connect the egpu after the pc starts with usb 4 but you can encounter bugs/glitches. It all depends on your pc. Also just a warning ⚠️ do not unplug the gpus from occulink when the device is running. It will cause damage. It is not hotswap. Unplugging the egpu using the USB 4 will just cause your PC to blue screen. OveralI I recommend this it's one of the cheapest ways to get a good looking occulink USB 4 egpu docks. ... show more

  • 4.5 / 5 - Great Value and Performance
This external GPU dock functioned as expected, providing straightforward plug-and-play operation and the capacity to considerably enhance the performance of mini PCs or older laptops. It was primarily used for demanding tasks such as rendering and video editing. The build quality appears robust, and the flexibility of a potentially replaceable server PSU is a positive aspect. However, there are two concerns: 1. The GPU feels somewhat unstable, connected only by its small PCB connector, which makes it vulnerable to accidental bumps. A stand or back support would be advantageous for enhanced stability. 2. The power button does not fully shut down the device, and the power supply stays on, leading to constant power consumption. ... show more

  • Does NOT come with 4090 cables: Update Cable required in review
I spent $300 on a case that holds a PSU said to "be able to power every gpu" and you don't even send me a cable that works with a 4090 so now I've bought 3 different cables, that don't work, to try to get my 4090 to run using this. Absolutely ridiculous. I can't even FIND what cable to use. I have $30 cables that fit perfectly and give me a yellow light. Plugging in my 2080 with the stock cables sent with this works fine, so I know it works, but why in the world do I have to spend my time looking into this and testing different cables when the literal POINT OF THIS DEVICE is to power a video card? Instructions? Guidance? Terrible experience. Update: Ok after my 3rd PCIE cable I'm good to go and this is working great so I'm bumping this up to a 4. It's been flawless the 2 days I've had it going with my 4090. The cable that I used is here on Amazon -- 600W 12VHPWR PSU Cable for Corsair - Fits RM, HX, AX PSU's only - Dual 8-pin Type-4 PCIe Cable - 12+4pin Connector for GPU - Black. I thought I had to use a 3 to 1 but this 2 to 1 works perfectly. I've uploaded a picture of my 3dmark benchmarks. The 780 is onboard, the 2090 is before I got my 4090 cabling right. There's also a 4090 7700x (cpu) in there that's my full size $$$ desktop that I'm replacing with this and this is only ~3kish less than the desktop. Very impressed. ... show more
