I don't own any MagnaTile sets, so I can't compare these to anything else, but I do know that my kids play with these almost daily, and have for the past 9 months straight. These magnet tiles have stood up to being dropped, thrown and stepped on. I bought them when they were on sale and felt like it was a GREAT price for the value we received. They stick together pretty well as long as you structure your building well. My kids routinely build towers that reach the ceiling. The basic shapes included in this set provide for lots of creative designs. The only parts that have broken have been the connectors for the train cars, but only when my kids were standing on them, so I don't see it as a design flaw. If you're on the fence, get off and buy these. We love them.

This a great way to teach children the skills to build. My granddaughter loves making the castle for her dolls. The magnet on the edge of each piece has a strong hold! Without it, the process of building would be a frustration for many.

These are easy one of my daughters favorite toys to build things with, she is constantly coming up with new designs. They are easy to put away and store in her playroom. I would purchase these again, In fact I will because of my grandson .The pieces stick together well. This was a great Christmas present. Great quality for the money and I dont know about compatibility because this was all that was needed.

These continue to be a huge hit long after purchase. Ultimately I can’t really tell the difference between these and the much more expensive OGs, so I think these are a great option. We will definitely buy more, my kid absolutely loves them.
