  • NOT BAD! NOT BAD!
I was hesitant to buy specifically one of these unit of this brand just because of "What you pay for is what you get" after reading much reviews for another brand "Range" and didn't want to spend $230+ for something that does exactly the same vs these Amazon brands (signifcantly Cheaper). I have found these Amazon brands to be more reputable with reliability, consistency, and MPG in mind. so I pulled the trigger on one of these Amazon ones instead. I was kind of hesitant to write a review because I was thinking if I should wait a bit to test and trial for this AFM disabler but I did so that it might help others make a decision. But I did order it. Arrived quickly, easy installation. Nothing durable about a unit like this of this nature, it's responsive so far, hence it's working so its compatibility with my suburban is good. Good for it's value. I drive a 2019 Suburban 5.3 4WD LT WITH 107,XXX miles , six days into it so far and I have not seen it switched back into v4 at all. Before I ran the AFM DISABLER, I would normally drive it in the L mode and leave it in L5 and it would never go back into v4 at all but with L5, the engine will rpm around 2500-2600 at L5, hence not get good gas mileage, while L6 rpm will go alot lower around I think around 1500-2000 and save gas more gas but the AFM will engage and go back to v4 BUT! (Just less frequently vs regular DRIVE mode whereas it would be more frequent) With this unit installed, according to the readouts, I believe I have saved a few MPG I want to say around 4mpg more. I use to have best scores of 17.x but with this unit on, I was getting 20-21.3 mpg on the freeway. The picture will help you get a better idea; Speed, rpm, etc So far, Im happy with it, not super stoked about it, but better than having to see the car go into the stupid v4 mode And prematurely damaging the engine. Previously, having to replace 1 lifter, rollers and 2 valves. I am still listening to how my suburban is responding and behaving with this AFM disabler on and connected). I will update review from time to time. ... show more

  • Absolutely amazing!
I purchased a 2016 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3L V8 two days ago knowing of the 4/8 AMF issue already. It only has 69K miles on it and runs perfect, but I wasn't taking a chance. I immediately ordered the AMF disabled and received it the day after buying the truck. WOW what a difference it made! Running on all 8 cylinders now permanently. Throttle response is so much better, shutter has been eliminated completely and the engine sounds excellent. Hopefully with it having very low mileage to begin with it doesn't have to much lifter damage, but this will definitely eliminate any further damage in the future. Don't hesitate to purchase this, save your motor and your wallet from unnecessary expenses in the future. ... show more

  • Amf/dmf delete device
I was hesitant on buying this product but im sure glad I did. It instantly works upon plug in. My truck is staying at 8 cylinders an they do give you a paperwork in it that states if your vehicle is gonna set for a couple days an not be driven to unplug the device cuz it could drain your battery. I’m even getting alittle better gas mileage in my truck from 16.1 to 18.4 mpg now. ... show more

  • Works great
I plugged this in as soon as I got it and immediately left on a 400 mile road trip. Performed exactly as it said it would. Noticed smoother idle, better throttle response, no shudder or hesitation. I would recommend this to anyone looking to disable AFM. 2010 Silverado 5.3L

  • Recommend this product to others looking to disable AFM/DFM!! Recommend this product to others looking to disable AFM/DFM!!
I purchased this AFM/DFM Disabler for my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Black Widow with only 51k miles, and overall it has been a solid device. It has consistently kept my truck in V8 mode, which is exactly what I wanted. I had read some reviews mentioning concerns about the device draining the battery, but I personally have not experienced any battery issues while using it. It has worked reliably since I plugged it in. I also saw claims that it could improve fuel economy. In my case, I haven’t noticed any change from my 9.3 MPG average, but my main goal was maintaining V8 performance, and it does that well. The price was reasonable, and I would recommend this product to others looking to disable AFM/DFM. Note to seller: I’d also be willing to test and review more of your products in the future. 4-star review ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Works as advertised. I drove my truck with the display showing that it was switching between V8 and V4. I then pulled over and plugged in the disabler with the truck off. I drove the same exact path and same speed, AFM did not activate. It's been 3 days and it's working. The AFM doesn't activate. Estimated mileage hasn't changed per the control panel. ... show more

  • Trustworthy product, real results.
Five star review. This afm disabler is a trustworthy product and the results are real. It's not some gimmick and is helping vehicles on the road that have cylinder deactivation drive like a normal vehicle now. This design is excellent and simple you just plug into the OBD port and it does the rest. When the vehicles computer says to shut off half the cylinders the disabler says no run all of them and effectively prevents them from shutting down. The product is not bad of a price and it will last a very long time just be careful of the prongs and the plastic device could be better quality it is cheap but looks good in carbon fiber color. Contours around the fingers for easy plug and play or removal speaking of which be sure to unplug it if not driven daily. We did do a very thorough test on this product and the results were perfect. We did leave the device plugged in for over a day and tried to start the car and heard a click like the battery, after not even a second was a short lag and it started when the car never did that before so remember there is battery draw when plugged in. Runs off your battery no matter what so unplug it when not in use. Initial start up lights and flashes green every few seconds means it's active. Let's get into product performance now, instant fix, noticed the difference right away. Better throttle response, faster acceleration, there's no little mechanical feel anymore or anything it just shifts and runs like an ordinary vehicle without afm even though the hardware is obviously still there in the engine. Our test results shown much improvement and this is what it's supposed to be like driving. Why would you want one of these disablers? Think of how this system works and it's pros and cons, it shuts down to save around 15% on gasoline which isn't much in the first place. Secondly there is a possibility the lifters will fail causing the engine to grenade itself. There are these little cylinder shape lifters with a spring on each end and it's controlled by oil pressure if not mistaken, inside is another piece that slides up and down. Whenever you have your foot into it the pieces move and if that spring gets jammed down it gets stuck and runs into the plastic piece holding it there and things start to shake violently and without a place to go the lifters can even go sideways causing the engine to grenade itself. If it fails you'd have to get a whole new engine in some cases. Well thought out idea but poorly executed afm and dod. This product effectively prevents this scenario from happening but can still fail. It is much cheaper than a delete kit which removes all the hardware and has to retune the ecm computer. Keep up to date on oil changes too. This product says it works on most if not all GM vehicles which is the best thing it's not limited to a single type making it very universal. It's great to use all the power all the time. Highly recommended product and the results are real. ... show more
