Will not compact, maintaining consistent aeration and drainage for plant roots. Will not decompose over time, depleting soil nitrogen. Lightweight, and ready to use. Neutral pHa reliable constant when mixing with organic materials
  • PROPAGATING - Cuttings may be rapidly rooted in either 100% Aero-Soil horticultural perlite or a mix of 3/4 perlite and 1/4 peat moss. Rooted cuttings can be easily removed from the media without causing root damage which lessens transplant shock. The media should be kept moist, and transplanting should not be attempted until a sturdy, well-formed root system has been developed.
  • SHRUBS & TREES - When planting shrubs and trees, dig a hole 10-12 inches wider and six inches deeper than the root system. Set the shrub or tree in position, and add 1/3 Aero-Soil, 2/3 soil mix tamped into and around the roots. As the hole is filled, the mix should be thoroughly watered.
  • HYDROPOPNIC GROWING - Extensive research has shown that superior crop yields result when horticultural perlite is used as a growing medium. In addition, since perlite exhibits a unique water exchangeability, over-watering and under-watering problems associated with such materials as rockwool are reduced or eliminated.
  • QUALITY - Perlite is one of natures most versatile and efficient minerals. Dicaperls Aero-Soil horticultural perlite is an easy-to-use, lightweight, sterile soil conditioner that is beneficial for commercial growers, landscapers, and home gardeners.

  • Great for making your own soil for raised beds
Exact sizing of perlite that I need to make my own soil mix for my vegetable garden. Much more economical than getting small bags at big box store.

  • Great for clay soil
I couldn’t be happier with the AeroSoil Perlite—this stuff made a huge difference in my garden! I originally bought it because I have really heavy clay soil, and I needed something to improve drainage and loosen things up. It absolutely delivered. As soon as I mixed it into my soil, I noticed a big improvement in texture. The soil became lighter, easier to work with, and didn’t stay soggy after watering like it used to. I also really appreciate the coarse grade. It doesn’t just disappear into the soil—it actually does its job by creating air pockets and improving overall soil structure. You can tell it’s a high-quality product. If you’re dealing with clay soil like I am, this is a game changer. I’ll definitely be buying more for future projects. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Not a durable bag.
The bag is cheaply made and tears easily. The product is good for perlite.

  • Functional, but a bit dusty so wear a mask.
Used for soil amendments in a potting soil application. A little bit dusty, so wear a mask.

  • Wow! That's A LOT of Perlite!
When it arrived at the house, I wondered what I had ordered that would come in a fairly large, but not very heavy, box ("uh oh, did I order something while drinking again??"). Who woulda' thought a 4-cubic foot bag of perlite would be so big! (roughly 38"H x 22W x 13D). Perlite in smaller bags can be kind of pricey. Well, y'all sure get your money's worth with this bag! I used this to generously amend twelve 40-pound bags of top soil and compost and still have at least of third of a bag left over. Best gardening deal I've snagged in years. ... show more
