This is my second unit, the first being the Bounty. I never realized how much I would enjoy watching the growth everyday from these. This unit is the perfect size for the countertop. Just pluck, rinse, and add to your dishes! It's very simple to get started. I've only had a few issues getting something to germinate and grow (thyme). I would highly recommend that you focus on plants that you will use often. It's remarkable how fast some of them grow. It was very hard to keep up with the Basil and Parsley (my neighbors aren't complaining about the free herbs). It’s awesome- it grows perfectly every time - I rip off the lettuce and it just grows back perfect again- let me tell u I DONT have a green thumb at all - wish I did but it’s so ez aerogarden will makes you look like you have a green thumb too. What’s even better is there are ebt eligible veggie pods wow! Right? There are blank pods for use also and the light is automatic u set the lights starts time and aerogarden does all the work it auto times the light on and off it also tells u to add fertilizer on time - included fertilizer lasts a long time too. aero garden is a no brainer go get one! This is actually my second purchase I also got a 12 pod upgraded version prior and loved it too. I like that it auto turns on a light to make it look like someone is home at night when I work nights - can be used as a night light also. This thing makes growing herbs so easy! I’d struggled with trying to get seeds to grow but herbs require so much light and water that they always died. This system makes growing so easy! Only downside is that it’s insanely bright so perhaps not the best for a small New York City apartment. Otherwise love the thing! ... show more

I use the Aero garden to start my outdoor spring garden. I plant the whole pod ( so as not to disturb the roots) and in the fall I dig them up. I use raised beds and barrels, so it is easy to find the pods. This also allows me to stagger the crops. I can harvest most of the lettuce plant and then plant the rest outside in the barrels. ... show more

Easy to assemble but noticed the expiration date on the seed pods is past the sell date. Light is on a timer. Water pump is silent. Shall see how things grow over the next few weeks.

Let me start off by saying I have a black thumb. You could give me a plant that doesn't need sunlight or water and I'd still manage to kill it! I really wish I was good with plants, so when I saw this on sale I decided to grab it and see if it was as easy as it seemed. The set up was really quick and easy. It came with 3 pods, you just set them in the tray, add the clear plastic caps on top, fill with water and a capful of food and plug it in. The light automatically comes on and there's a light that blinks on top when you need to add more plant food (came with the kit). My kids and I checked it every day and got super excited when we saw little green sprouts popping up. The sprouts eventually grew into the plants you see in the photos. I set everything up on Sept 2nd. The first photo was taken on Sept 25th and the other 3 were taken 5 days later, Sept 30th! I pruned the basil and dill and froze them so I could use them in my cooking. I can't wait to see them continue to grow and see how much I get out of this awesome little kit. Totally worth it, and I'll probably end up grabbing one of the bigger AeroGardens in the future if they go on sale. ... show more
