  • Great sealer at a great price
Color: Silver
This works very well. Comparable or better than others costing much more. Bought it to replace a Foodsaver that finally broke after 15 years. A strange but possibility useful quirk to this is the way the canister mode works. It doesn't draw as strong a vacuum as bag mode and releases the pressure automatically when it achieves vacuum. I think this is to prevent softer plastic containers from crushing. The workaround is to use the regular mode with the hose attachment and push "cancel" when the seal light comes on. This gets the strongest vacuum on sturdy containers or mason jars. I have found the marinate function pretty useless because it holds a vacuum and then releases it and vacuums again for 5 consecutive cycles. The problem is that any one way valve on a container won't allow the vacuum to be released and if using this with a mason jar attachment, there is no way to make it draw consecutive vacuum cycles without adding some sort of weight to the mason jar attachment to create a proper seal. ... show more

  • Excellent Vacuum Sealer
Color: Silver
First off, the legs aren't rubber so I had to put some mesh, sticky cabinet shelf protectors. I've only used this one day, but I vacuum sealed 8 bags. To make the first seal takes 10 seconds, slower than expected. But I love the double seal!! The sealer is a few inches off the counter so I used the towel to level the bag out a bit better. The vacuum is fast!! Then it takes another 7 or 8 seconds for it to finish the process. The storage area is great and the cutter works perfectly. My first sealer had it, my last one didn't and I really missed it. I vacuum sealed chicken, burger and green beans already cooked. No mess at all. I haven't tried the pulse function yet, but I expect it to work as good as the regular vacuum and seal option. ... show more

  • Sucks😉
Color: Silver
The suction is good. But not as good as when I first used it. Works really well on frozen items steak, fish, etcetera. The dry and fruit and vegetables items seal well but loses air quickly, if you know what I mean and if I'm using correctly.

  • Less wasted food!
Color: Silver
I've wanted one of these for years. And I should have just broke down and bought one sooner. This thing just keeps on paying for itself over and over. It's really easy to use. The bag rolls are inexpensive and come in several sizes. We love having this in our kitchen for separating family packs of meat, etc... And leftovers always get used up now, rather than spoiling and going to waste. ... show more

Have had 3 vacuum sealers in 3 years. The other two stopped working or were a pain to operate. This one rocks! Easy to use. Works every time.

  • Move on ... Don't buy this one!
Color: Silver
The first photo is for tofu that I was finally able to get a good seal on after two repetitive vacuum sealing attempts on the same bag one immediately after the other. This was with 11" bag material. The second photo is an attempt to vacuum seal a bag of beans using the dry setting and normal vacuum an 8" bag material. This was immediately after getting a very well sealed bag of beans. I used a lot more material trying to get a second bag of beans sealed. Even after giving the machine time to rest. I wanted to keep this unit. It is supposed to have a pump that can vacuum at 90 KPa. I have no way of testing this, but according to a Google online converter that is equivalent to 25 units of Mercury (Hg). That is a very respectable vacuum pressure and will probably be all that's needed for these kinds of vacuum sealers. I was expecting to vacuum blueberries, meat, tofu, beans, and dry food in canisters under multiple settings and with different brands of roll material. I have never had a problem with evacuating the air from my canisters or any vacuum roll material I've ever used. I have three different kinds of bag material including the material that came with this unit. I am using standard vacuum material with the ridged surface inside the bags. I have been using vacuum sealers for about 30 years and I've only owned FoodSaver units before now. I don't think the FoodSaver units are as good as they used to be so I decided to try something different. You would think that some manufacturers learned how to make a better mousetrap, but it looks like I'm wrong. I have also used chamber vacuum units, but I don't own any. Being that I cook a lot, and I buy a lot of groceries in bulk, I know that using vacuum sealers have saved me a lot of money. So, to me it is a necessary tool for my home. It is also been great to vacuum seal fish that I've caught. Before I get into the failures of this unit, the unit always uses a double row seal. I actually thought this would be a good thing and would prevent the need to manually seal twice with moist food to be sure there was no leakage. So, here are the problems I experienced: Although you would expect a vacuum sealer to have no problem evacuating air from any width of material it is made to seal, I found this unit does not like 8" wide material unless you give it an excessive amount of room in the bag. Even then you better karma clap before you try it. To me, that's an absolute waste of bag material. I have no idea why it doesn't work well when you use a shorter bag, but I guess it has something to do with the initial pressure in the bag that won't allow the pump to begin evacuating air. Actually, I don't think this is that complicated of a unit, so I have no idea why it doesn't work well with 8" material. Every time I had a problem with 8" material there was plenty of material in the collection chamber under the lid, there were no wrinkles, and nothing was covering up the vacuum port inside. I did have some successes. However, using the same settings immediately after the successful vacuum sealing that I just did usually ended up in failure. This happened to me multiple times including with the 8" material they provided with the unit. I only got one good vacuum and seal on tofu with 8" wide material and it was the very first attempt. The setting for that was "Extended" for sealing and "Regular" for vacuum. However, each time I tried that same setting with more 8" material either I had no vacuum suction whatsoever or it was a poorly vacuumed bag or it failed to seal properly. Second, the canister hose which is tucked nicely up under the inside of the lid, apparently has a different size male nipple than what would fit a FoodSaver canister. It would only fit snuggly into one of my canisters and that was only if I pushed it way down into the hole. The second canister would only work if I held the connector tightly down on top of the lid but it was loose fitting into the hole in the lid. The third canister was such a loose fit in the hole that I could never get it to evacuate the canister. The male nipple on these connectors on each end of the hose should be of a standard size so that they would fit the canisters made by many different manufacturers, but they do not. The connectors are not the type with a cup end that fits over a wide seal on a canister lid. I also found that the hose was a little short, but I think that's because they want it to fit underneath the lid of the main unit. Third, I tried the gentle setting for the blueberries and it worked well. I ended up sealing two bags of blueberries. However, it only worked well with 11 inch bag material. I decided to put the remaining blueberries back in the fridge. The instructions do say to give it at least one minute between vacuumings. I'm certain that there were a few times I had done that. I know that there are other times I've given it anywhere from 3 minutes to 10 minutes before using it again, but still had problems. I decided to see if the unit needed to completely cool down in case I was overworking it. After about 20 minutes, I still couldn't seal anything very well. After it had fully rested, I decided to make these easy test just to see what would happen. I was going to vacuum seal some dry beans in 8" bags. The first bag was perfect. The beans were sealed very tightly and the unit worked like a charm. So, I pulled out more bag material, sealed one end of it, poured in some beans and attempted to seal and vacuum seal that bag. Absolutely no vacuuming was occurring. Not even a little bit. I gave it a couple of more minutes to see if it needed another rest, but it didn't make any difference. I still couldn't get it to vacuum or seal. I later came back with some 11" material and attempted to vacuum seal the bag of beans that I couldn't get in the 8" material. Guess what? It's sealed like a charm. Why? What the heck? I am going to be sending this unit back. This is my second vacuum sealing unit to send back in a week. Sorry, Amazon, but if you're going to sell defective products like this, I'm going to continue sending it back to you. Maybe you should test these units before you shove them off on the public and make them deal with the frustrations of defective items that don't work. We have free will, people! Don't let them take advantage of you. You deserve better. ... show more
