I would highly recommend the Advantage II Large Cat formula. We were heading into a rather nasty flea infestation that caught us unawares, so I ordered this right away. With the help of a couple of flea baths and this Advantage, we were quick to reign in our flea problem. With permanent cats and a guest cat in our home, we couldn’t afford for the flea problem to get out of hand. Thankfully, this Advantage was the answer to our problem. Advantage II Large Cat is a leading brand of flea treatment and prevention for large cats over nine pounds. It does a magnificent job of delivering total flea protection. It kills adult fleas, flea larvae, and flea eggs through contact. You simply apply the topical treatment to the back of your cat’s neck and/or shoulders, under their fur, and the rest is history. There’s no fussing with hard-to-swallow pills and better yet, you don’t need a prescription from your Veterinarian to purchase this flea medication. Advantage II begins killing fleas within the first twelve hours of application. It works for thirty days. The description says that it's “fragrance-free”, but I have always found that there is a slight “chemically” smell to it. The smell goes away once it dries. You’re not supposed to touch the back of your cat’s neck until the Advantage II medication is fully dry anyway so it’s really not a problem. I absolutely stand by this product. I have always gotten great results with Advantage II. I swear by it. I highly recommend it to anyone who may be having a problem with fleas. I have an indoor cat, a gray tabby 12 lb 4 years old, but we live across from my apartment dog park so I probably brought the fleas in on my clothes. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a flea on my arm and I bought a flea comb at the store so I could inspect the cat. I think I caught the infestation early because I only found a few fleas on her that day but the next day I couldn't brush her out without three or four fleas on the comb. I bought this product after reading some of the reviews, even though I was annoyed with how much it cost but I guess that's just the price of keeping your pet healthy and happy. I am happy to report that within 24 hours of administering the advantage, I didn't comb any more fleas off of the cat. I've combed her out with the flea comb every day since then for 2 weeks and have not seen another flea. The stuff really works and it was worth the price! ... show more

Thank god this worked! I’ve been buying the expensive Bravecto prescription flea medicine for my cat because I thought that was the only one that would work now. Front line didn’t seem to work anymore. I rarely put flea medicine on him, since he’s a inside cat but when he does get them I put the medicine on. Well the other night I saw him scratching and scratching, so I put a flea comb through him and sure enough fleas were all over him. It was a Friday and my vet was closed on the weekend to get the prescription for Bravecto and even if I did get it I would have to wait for shipping, while his fleas got worse. And not only was he itching but I was getting bit up too. So I was desperate to find something to be delivered the next day. I read reviews on this, bought it and took my chances. Well I’m so glad I did! I combed him out the next day, nothing. And the day after that, nothing. I even tried again last night, nothing. I’m so glad I don’t have to spend an arm and leg on prescription flea meds when I can just get this now when needed. Thank you advantage!!!!! ... show more

My indoor cat had been plagued by fleas since May (as the weather gets hot) thanks to my neighbour's cat coming into our house randomly one day and oh my god, it was bad. poor kitty couldn't stop scratching and us human got flea bites everywhere. At first we tried a flea drop from Sentry Fiproguard, it's as useful as water--it does nothing and every flea I combed out was active and leapt away--it was a useless piece of rubbish. that useless drop was applied 2 weeks ago and we had been pondering for a while, wondering if we should try another drop early on because the flea got really bad. a bathe for the cat (it was like a battlefield) works a bit; combing two hours per day (morning and night, 1 hr each) works better but the fleas just jump back on her; we tried flea medicine and waterless shampoos which has somewhat of an effect but nothing too efficient. In the end we decided to risk it and get a new brand of drop, applied it at the three weeks timeframe. The drop arrived this morning, I immediately applied it and went on my day. An hour later, it's her daily combing section and I noticed majority of the fleas are dead! those that were still alive incapacitated and barely able to move which can easily finish the job by soaking them in water with dish soap. It was quite surprising to me because I had a dog years ago and I used the dog flea drop from this brand, it didn't work so I never tried advantage II again until now--maybe it was an old recipe or something, but the cat version works like wonder. Somehow my cats got fleas(they're all indoor), I got this at the recommendation of a friend and almost overnight they were flea free! My advise when using this is to pay attention to placement, higher between the shoulder blades is harder for them to reach and will reduce the chance of them licking it off. Also, after application it'll spread a bit, if they happen to get a tiny little bit in their mouth don't freak out they'll be alright, just hold them or distract with a treat.
