I was looking for something with a tiny bit of bouyancy for peace of mind at the beach with our big kids. These worked great. Our kids can swim/float just fine and don't need (nor will wear) a life jacket like a little kid - but I still worry about rip currents at their present swimming skill. I really just needed something for that "in between" stage. This belt gave a little 'boost' and helped my two daughters (10) jump over waves with ease without looking like (from her point of view) that she didn't know how to swim. ( Because the belt stayed dipped below the waterline, she didn't look 'like a little kid'). I felt I could breathe a little easier since we tend to go in the late afternoon when no lifeguards are on duty. And when my sisters young son started swimming away out of direct arms reach in the water, our extra bouyancy belt became the compromise. It just took the anxiety down a notch about riptides as the sun was setting. I wasn't sure if they would work out, but I'm glad I packed them in the beach wagon. This was the best purchase for my snorkeling trip. We spent a week at a coral reef. I’m a decent swimmer and in OK shape, but I wanted to be able to stay out for long periods without getting exhausted. This belt allowed me to snorkel for hours without feeling Tired. It was very small for packing and I didn’t even think I would use it in the end, I used it for every snorkel outing very easy to blow up and the color is perfect so that jet skis and boats can avoid. I preferred to use this instead of the life vest as the life vest tend to pull up towards your neck and face. I had to order two because the first one didn't fit after it was inflated. The second one fit but it quickly moved up under the arms and didn't stay around the waist. Great quality floater. Ever since I bought this floater my 3 year old daughter loves to be in the water and feels really safe using it. Very light weight and easy to fill the air. Comes with three separate sizes. Recommend it for new or experienced swimmers.
